Once more, with feeling: there is a difference between availability of health insurance and availability of health care.

Paramedics have said up to ten ambulances can ‘stack up’ outside James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough, putting patients’ lives at risk.

One added: ‘Somebody is going to die somewhere down the line and it could be the most vulnerable, children.

But that’s just one hospital, right?

Nationally, ambulances waiting more than half an hour increased by more than a quarter to 27,143 from the end of November to the start of this year – up from 21,472 in the same period in 2011, according to department of health figures.
