We attended today’s White House meeting to discuss how to keep our children safe and were prepared to have a meaningful conversation about school safety, mental health issues, the marketing of violence to our kids and the collapse of federal prosecutions of violent criminals.

While claiming that no policy proposals would be ‘prejudged,’ this Task Force spent most of its time on proposed restrictions on lawful firearms owners – honest, taxpaying, hardworking Americans. It is unfortunate that this Administration continues to insist on pushing failed solutions to our nation’s most pressing problems. We will not allow law-abiding gun owners to be blamed for the acts of criminals and madmen. Instead, we will now take our commitment and meaningful contributions to members of congress of both parties who are interested in having an honest conversation about what works – and what does not.”
How incredibly not shocking.

Let’s be honest about the putpose of The Second Amendment: It was put there as a check on government power, not a government grant of rights that can be taken from us.
It was meant to give us the means to kill an out of control government.
When you’ve decided that the goicernment is truly out of control, and only then, that’s why you pick up your weapons: To kill the government…before it kills you.
I thought the NRA statement today was good but didn’t go far enough in explaining to the American people how they are being manipulated into “agreeing” with Holder/Obama’s pre-determined agenda. And there is even a manual for it:

Time to be honest w/ourselves.
The Second Amendment is there not to grant rights, but to keep government from encroaching on our rights in any way, whatsoever, for any reason at all.
Obviously, the government has ignored this limitation for decades. It moves, even now, to remove ever more of your rights, limiting and removing your rights on a daily basis.
The Second Amendment is there so that we can kill an out of control government. All other purposes are secondary.
You need to decide when the government needs to be killed…and you have to kill it before it kills you.
That’s The Second Amendment. That’s the true responsibility of being a free man or woman. The responsibility to protect yourself. It’s your responsibility to protect and defend your rights. That right, that defense of your rights, can be relegated to no other, whether a great leader or a politician or a religious zealot, or a political ideologue. It’s your responsibility, and yours, alone.
You must make the decision about whether to kill your own government and then decide when and how it must be done.
That’s freedom.
That’s The Second Amendment.
