The National Father’s Day Council has named Bill Clinton its “Father of the Year.” He will receive the award on June 11, 2013. They’re not joking.
What must Bernard Lewinsky think of this? Isn’t it like giving Ted Kennedy a “Swimmer of the Year” award? Or giving Vlad Putin a Pulitzer Prize?

I posted this on Boss Simon’s “who is worse thread”, but it keys on the Clinton award and WHO gave him that award. So here it is reposted:
“Jon Corzine is worse than Madoff, and Al Gore worse than Corzine. And worse still are those who celebrate and laud evil.
Yesterday Bill Clinton received the Father of the Year award by The National Father’s Day/Mother’s Day Council, Stuart M. Goldblatt, President, Laurie Dowley (famous lesbian), chairman.
Yet worst of all, the most dangerous of all, are those who allow evil to prosper, unremarked, uncaring, unwilling to get involved. And compared to those cold people the Clintons and Obamas should be celebrated. BECAUSE of such cold people perhaps Evil for a while should be made king. I pray not, yet the prayers of others are to dine and party with the most publicly notorious, to inspire a adulation for what is and will be horribly destructive behavior in the weak and poor, celebrating the powerful, wealthy and famous whose unchecked and unrebuked failings are in those personages that which makes them most beloved.
Yesterday, 9 January 2013, calendar Gregorian, over 5,000 babies were born in the US to single moms, and most of them to a life of future hardships just for the fact of having no Dad married to a Mom.”
“Yet worst of all, the most dangerous of all, are those who allow evil to prosper, unremarked, uncaring, unwilling to get involved”…I read this in the other blog, and there are 2 sides to that coin. Maybe getting involved would turn us into exactly the kind of person we do not want to be – ruthless? frustrated and angry? as hungry for power over the evil guys as they are over us? Tell me exactly how I – a person with no power, a very limited circle of connections, no desire to be dragged into what is escalating beyond a catfight, can get involved? Write my reps? They have already told us they have no obligation or desire to do what their constituents want. There seems to be only one way , and that is one person at a time – but when they look at us and see no difference, they shrug and move on.
thom,
Read what you wrote again. Then remember that being a Patriot takes both action and sacrifice. Otherwise anyone could do it.
Pick something that drives you absolutely nuts, then get involved in righting it. Join an advocacy group and send money to it. Post articles about the topic on your facebook page, or tweet about it. Talk about it with friends. Attend local events.
Amp up your involvement in the political process. I agree that voting and writing letters are not enough. Go ahead and walk a precinct, attend a tea party rally, volunteer with voter registration efforts.
Use the power of your wallet. Refuse to patronize businesses that take unnecessary and very public stances in support of laws and policies which are ugly or unjust. Same for celebrities.
Injustice does not give way to complaints.
well, teaching people to read, and then them reading the bible just about guarantees a revolution in 25 years….it has, pretty consistently. usually peaceful. so, volunteering at a school, or a church, and being kind and interested in the young people- even little league coach, or mentor at church, or sunday school teacher……you’ve changed the pattern of your world for the better. that happens enough times, you’ve changed the whole world.
it’s in books on scotland. they got literacy, they exported people and literacy, and hey, presto! an american revolution. I read the book on the banana king- something, something, swallowed a whale, and he invested in literacy in south america, but didn’t involve the bible, so it was a bloody mess, right at 25 years. you don’t even have to control the content, or the denomination. it’s pretty much self-correcting, which is interesting.
it’s happening in africa right now, from nigerian home-grown ministers, and around the pacific rim nations. it’s not exactly visible, b/c it’s natives dressed like natives, in native languages. they aren’t sending home reports to england, for instance, since they are native churches, not missionary westernizing projects.
what you have right now- that you are kind and concerned, rather than bloviating and power-mad, is more than enough to make the world a better place, in your corner of the world.
– Obama got the Nobel and Penn an Oscar, pretty much saw awards are propaganda.
When I read Bill Clinton was nominated “Father of the Year” I thought it was parody. Then I realized who was handing out the awards and realized in their formality, they mistook the title father intending to use daddy, as in sugar.
I can’t help but grudgingly admire Clinton – he’s far better, far more intelligent, far more devious than Barack Obama on his best day. The greatest manipulator I have witnessed in my lifetime with an ability that Barack Obama could never possess – a megalomaniac with the uncanny character to sound humble while poaching you. A man who came from white trash to be nominated most powerful man on earth.
I never voted for the man, never trusted the man. But I can give credit where credit is due.
Who else on this earth could be a proven serial philanderer and convicted perjurer, running the gamut of ages with girls near his own daughter’s age, on Easter Sunday holding a Bible with Monica on her knees, a possible serial rapist whom many women still apparently fawn over; such a coward to let his own cheated wife willingly run interference for his excuses and feel no remorse, retaining her as wife. A man so manipulative that Monica’s own father ran interference for a President that had abused and ruined his daughter.
Give the devil his due, gang. There is no greater deceiver of the flesh on earth than Bill Clinton.
It was, of the unintended variety. Most self-parodies fit that category.
America is full of men able to ease into a room and own every women in it, in every town over a certain size, the way the human ecosystem works — one or more come forth from the mix of social forces and self-motives. Frank Sinatra had that charm, and so do thousands of talents in show business and media, and high-performance salesmen, top execs, sports stars. To say that is to say no more than any playwright, commentator or author has said in similar words since the dawn of fires used as stage lighting in caves. Clinton is no more or less than they, that is likely, in his smooth talk.
Yet men of certain sorts rise in their culture and time to social and political apexes. Some of that is due to they themselves, others to the nature of the polity and polis, of the society, and a significant part is the force os Divine Providence, or, well, to coach the term “Cosmic Justice”.
That a Clinton, that an Obama, a Sharpton, the Daschles or a Goldblatt and Dowley rise to power, prominence, fame or fortune is NO WAY TO MEASURE them. The way to measure people is by their deeds, and a small deed can count for more than a large.
Give no credit to the rise of fool or a conman.
Oh, I agree with you 100%, bvw. Don’t mistake my marveling at the success and magnitude of Clinton’s deceit as something I admire or aspire too. In the day of judgment, Clinton will no doubt stand in the largest fire.
As a measure of the man, I find – no I know – Clinton a ginormous weasel and con artist, a colossal fraud, a sanctimonious coward, a blowhard, a rank liar, hypocrite, self-absorbed lout, deviant, and python sized snake in the grass. 200% pure scumbag with insufferable libido.
But the man has an almost supernatural ability to not only survive, but thrive. I don’t call him the Abomination of Desolation lightly – so I grudgingly tip the hat.
I hope Alec Baldwin gets to present it.
The real question is whether he abused the girl.
Who would bet against it?
