December 24, 2012 — President Obama waves from the window of his motorcade vehicle as he returns from a workout at Marine Corps Base Hawaii in Kailua, Hawaii.
That was the Washington Post’s caption for this rather odd looking photo which also appeared on Drudge Report. Not to dishonor the Office of the President, BUT this photo struck me as not very Presidential. Even worse, it gives the impression that Our Leader was being hauled off somewhere against his will.
Fortunately for the sake of our national well being, the latter was not the case which is why this photo has been chosen to be the subject of the last Photo Caption Contest of 2012.
The photo captures President Obama in a “warm, mellow moment” but the Washington Post’s caption just leaves me a bit cold. Therefore, I am calling on PJ Tatler readers to jazz it up a bit. With all of your collective photo caption contest experience you should be in tip-top shape to exceed expectations by raising the humor bar to new heights.
For the sake of any newcomers, the contest rules are “be nice and stay classy because the media is watching.” (The need to repeat these rules every contest acts like a guard rail preventing you from falling off the creative cliff.)
Good luck and remember as patriotic Americans we must always honor the Office of the President. In 2013 you may need to repeat that directive often or you might find yourself hauled off somewhere against your will.
