Our latest Tatler Photo Caption Contest was a reaction to a report entitled, “Global Trends 2030: Alternative Worlds”   — prepared by the office of the National Intelligence Council of the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, in other words – it came from the White House. The take away message is that the USA will no longer be the sole superpower by 2030.

So keep that in mind as you are buying all those Chinese goods for Christmas.

Now the winners of the Honorable Mention title are:

The capital is fading out of the picture. With the coming of Chinese dominance we now have people in charge who know math. Submitted by Mr. G

Would you like the extended warranty with that?  Submitted by stephen b

Obama in 2013, well it IS the year of the snake! Submitted by cfbleachers

(Note: I checked and it really is!)

Barack Obama: “At a certain point, you’ve made enough money.”
Deng Xiaoping: “To get rich is glorious.”
We have a president who’s to the left of a communist leader.
  Submitted by rbj

Obama: “Gee, that took longer than I thought it would!”   and

As one flag falls, another rises…(with a little help from The Won). Both submitted by scottch

Now before I announce the Grand Prize Winner (who receives a set of cheap Chinese tires that are sure to explode on the way to Grandma’s house) I was HOPING this person would NOT submit a caption worthy of the top prize as he so often does.  However, his entry was so creative and captioned the photo so perfectly I could not avoid awarding the exploding tires to cfbleachers who scored with this gem:

Well, it finally came true. Hu’s your daddy.

Mr. cfbleachers, I must inform you that the judges were on the Chinese carpets rolling in laughter!

Thanks to all who took the time to submit an entry or a comment.

Please be aware that many Tatler readers tell me how much they enjoy reading all your captions. So keep it up and we will see you next time a photo is worthy of a Tatler Photo Caption Contest.
