Speaking of Krugman’s pining away for the good old days of 91% tax rates—I guess there would be a way, and I don’t know how the PayPal money was structured, but i nonetheless have a difficult time seeing how if Herr Krugman ever got his druthers, things like SpaceX happen.
And we already know how well NASA itself does these thngs. No talk of the government just using Musk’s money. He still has far outleveraged NASA, money-wise.
With Krugman’s ideas, would there be any nouveau rich breaking into other fields at all? Bigelow? VirginGalactic? BlueOrigin? Or would lquidity issues make it too difficult? Not entirely sure of the answer, but I have my suspicions.
