Well, why not? Obama is considering John Kerry for Defense, which would put someone who built his career on smearing the military in charge of the military. So it would make perfect sense for him to put someone who lied about the deaths of four State Department personnel in charge of the State Department.
Mr. Obama has made no official announcement about Clinton’s replacement, but CBS News has confirmed that U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice is the president’s top choice. The Stanford alum and former secretary for African Affairs during the Clinton administration went on to be a trusted aide to Mr. Obama during his 2008 campaign when she served as his top foreign policy adviser.
Rice, however, would be in for a tough confirmation in the Senate if nominated for Secretary of State. She has already faced criticism from Republicans for her handling of the aftermath following the attacks at the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya, which resulted in the killings of four Americans, including Ambassador Chris Stevens. Rice publicly proclaimed that the attacks were “spontaneous” and a result of an American-made, anti-Muslim film and not a terrorist act. Critics say her explanation was rooted in politics just weeks before the election.
“I think Susan Rice would have an incredibly difficult time to get through the Senate,” Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., said on “Face the Nation” Sunday. “I’m not going to promote somebody who I think has misled the country or is either incompetent,” he added.
A Rice nomination would confirm that Obama has no interest in the American people getting anywhere near the truth about the Benghazi attack, and no interest in surrounding himself with anything other than the most determined liars.

Do we need “confirmation” at this point? Coals to Newcastle, I’d call it—though Chris Matthews would probably call that a racist dogwhistle.
You got that right.
After a stolen election, the dictator gets to do whatever the hell he pleases.
Octomom for Surgeon General and Corzine for Treasury. Holder to keep his job.
Forward!
So he’s basically trying to see just how far he can go.
Yowzer. Stick it to ‘em good.
According to Richard Miniter, it was under Rice’s watch (the Africa desk at State) that Bin Laden emerged as a threat. She advised Clinton against accepting an offer from Sudan to turn him over to the U.S. The latter may have been forgivable; maybe the Sudan was not reliable. But the first item should have disqualified her from any future high level appointment.
Joke’s on us.
How about Jon Corzine for Attorney General? Van Jones for Commerce. William Ayers for Labor.
Wait’ll he nominates Bernardine Dohrn for the Supreme Court.
I bet she’ll have a lively confirmation hearing.
In Harry Reid’s Senate? She’ll stroll in with no problem.
Someone had better break the news to Senator Kerry.
Well, this should open up Kerry’s military records at any rate–at least to the Senate committee (which is as far as it should go, initially). I’ve personally always wondered if he got a little rebuke from his departing skipper for glory-hounding and/or putting in a questionable Purple Heart claim.
Because that is what I would have done to any officer under my command engaging in such activity. And that is not partisanship, it officership.
Oh, and this is of course minority politics at work. Make the GOP go up against X.
Which is why I’m all for secession. I mean, I’m not–I’m just tired of this game, so let’s see who is willing to put their money where their demagogeury is.
Lessee, Bill Ayers for Sec Education, Andy Stern for Sec of Labor, Frank Abagnale for Chairman of the Fed.
With Harry Reid to force things through, what’s to stop them from confirming any of them?
Maxine Waters for Ethics?
Charlie Sheen for Chairman of the Joint (sic) Chiefs of Staff (sic).
“Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., said on “Face the Nation” Sunday. “I’m not going to promote somebody who I think has misled the country or is either incompetent,” he added.”
What did Graham think the Obama selections that have already been confirmed by Graham were going to do? Obama has never successfully ran so much as a lemonade stand. Does Graham really believe he would nominate any one more successful than himself?
Rice has been caught, flat out and out lying. Barry is gonna Nominate her? When in hell did I fall through the looking glass?
John Kerry for Sec/State? If his track record of pandering to anyone who despises us holds up(remember how he went to Paris in his fricken’ uniform and nothing was done to his later esteemed career? Or how he publicized his first campaign in front of The Vietnam Wall while rules/laws existed to prevent just such actions?)
I will wait with trembling anticipation as our Esteemed U S Senate reveals these little tidbits and exhale when he answers the charges, with something other than Pure Unadulterated Chutzpah……
To paraphrase the immortal words of our President: “He won.”
Henry Kissinger, Susan Rice. Henry Kissinger, Susan Rice. WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE?
Ah, me. I have barfed so much in the last week there is nothing left to barf.
