The New Normal
A Leftist friend just wrote me to gloat about the Presidential election – saying I owe him beer. (I don’t – I lost a beer bet to him on the 1996 Presidential election.)
Behold my response:
Perhaps.
I definitely owe the Chinese and others at least another $6 trillion four years hence.
And I owe a bunch of money to about 20 million illegal aliens now ensconced in ObamaCare coverage. And more for their welfare checks. And more for the English-As-a-Second-Language government educations.
I owe even more for citizens who refuse to take responsibility for their lives, and instead voted for a man who promised to “spread the wealth around.” I owe for their waste-of-time-and-money “Women Studies,” “English,” Liberal Arts college educations. I owe for their abortion pills, birth control pills, and condoms. I owe for their Obama Phones, their food stamps and their Social Security disability checks.
I owe them my health coverage getting much more expensive and demonstrably worse so that theirs can be “free.”
I owe them my work and my money getting scarcer, because it must be regulated and taxed away to create their Dystopia Utopia.
I owe a lot of people. It’s a long line – you can get in it.
It’ll look a lot like the line for health care. Or the line for welfare. Or the line for food stamps. Or the line for the post office. Or the line for the DMV.
The government’s already out of money, so their lines don’t move so well.
I soon will be, so mine won’t either.
But congratulations – your guy won the election.

AMEN! I know people who say to me they are getting “help” from the government since they are out of work. I never let them get away with it though as I always let them know it’s ME not the government they need to thank since I pay the bills with my taxes. They are always taken aback since they don’t want to have it pointed out that we taxpayers who work are supporting them. No one ever thanks me of course they just turn away.
What a waste of electrons. Leftists don’t care about any of that.
They will when the checks start bouncing.
To gloaters I say this: look up the phrase “Pyrrhic victory.”
Lefties like to claim reality has a liberal bias. No, it has an educational one. It abhors a vacuum between the ears.
Your Leftist friend will shrug all of that away. Only a total collapse will get his attention — but total collapses tend to empower dictators. Note the following statements:

I take umbrage to you “use” of those on disability as being free loaders. There are many who truly qualify and unable to work.
My example I was injured in Vietnam many years ago. Yet I still stayed in the military for another 18 years being productive and protecting our country and your right to accuse me of freeloading. As complications from the injury advanced the military threw me out (medically discharged) I went to work in the civilian world for another 25 years. All the time in the military and in civilian life I paid Social Security taxes and income taxes. Now that I’m 63 have to carry around oxygen around everywhere I go, and several doctors tell my no can longer work. Then I have to get a lawyer and fight with social security to trade my monthly income of over $10K to a Social Security monthly income of $1.9K. I get to be classed as a freeloader.
