Obviously, New Jersey is not a right to work, or even right to help out, state.
Crews from Decatur Utilities headed up there this week, but Derrick Moore, one of the Decatur workers, said they were told by crews in New Jersey that they can’t do any work there since they’re not union employees.
The crews that are in Roanoke, Virginia say they are just watching and waiting even though they originally received a call asking for help from Seaside Heights, New Jersey.
Understandably, Moore said they’re frustrated being told “thanks, but no thanks.”

F*ck the unions, this is an emergency situation.
Not surprised at all. New Jersey also requires certain “fees” in order to do any kind of construction. They’ll even stop by the construction site to make sure they get payment.
not to dismiss the destruction but this happens every year here in the united states- it is only when it happens in the land of blue where hysterics and histrionics and wheel/spin/mud dominate couple this with interference from leftist sacred cows and the results speak for themselves
Anyone obstructing relief efforts should be held to account for any deaths that may result. Sure, you can insist on the work crews all being union — but you may have to face negligent homicide charges.
It’s a revolt. Time to send the military into NJ. With instructions to shoot anyone who gets in the way.
Imagine if you will… Sandy ravages the east coast and causes $50 Billion in damages. The president stands and says, “Not to worry, the Federal government will pay for everything to be repaired. Good as new!” The media goes nuts… People go nuts… It’s the best thing since sliced bread! No need to imagine. With the cost of Sandy’s damage estimated at $50 billion, the stimulus passed by the Dumocrats could pay for repair of all the damage TWENTY times over. Just a thought!
Nothing could further help prove the ability of unions to be enemies of the public good than this.
