So Mitt Romney said something perfectly innocuous and obvious, and the mainstream media pretends that it’s just the most damagingest thing to ever have been said by any politician ever.
Apparently the likes of Mark Halperin doesn’t remember “You didn’t build that!” or “bitter clingers” or any of the other stupid things that Barack Obama has said that ought to have killed off his political career. People like Mark Halperin are part of the reason that Obama remains viable to this day. His screw-ups aren’t treated as screw-ups.
But Halperin is right in one sense, I guess. As long as the media is so blatantly dishonest and one-sided in its mishandling of our politics, anything Romney says is automatically far more damaging to him than anything Obama says or does. Whether Romney is right or wrong.
For instance: We now know that the Obama administration had 72 hours notice on the attacks in Libya and Cairo and that it failed to prepare. Its failure has left four Americans dead and Obama’s MidEast policy in ruins. But Romney pointing out the president’s lack of leadership last week has damaged him no end, we’re told, while Obama’s deadly incompetence isn’t even a problem.
As for what Romney said, haven’t the Democrats been banking their hopes on the rise of the Hispanic vote? Don’t they publicly say, all the time, that the time of the white man is over and that the Latino vote will hand them permanent majorities until the end of time? They certainly say that here in Texas. They have been pining for the Hispanic vote to deliver Texas to them for a generation.
So Romney agreed that if he had a Hispanic background he would have an easier time defeating Obama in an environment in which the medialeft are race obsessed.
Obvious is obvious.
And stupid is stupid.
I’ll leave it to the readers which of those describes the media best.

Obvious? Stupid?
I’ll do you one better.
Evil.
I’m with stupid.
I second the stupid.
In fact, I’ll see your stupid and raise you one clueless nincompoop.
The servile state is almost achieved. This election is our one last shot to halt this course.
“It’s human nature, stupid,” is what comes to me when I see the MSM prostitute itself to this, dare I say it, Egyptian-type god, a statue of stone with the head of a–what? I suppose that depends on the day of the week.
Think of it this way: the People Israel: the Lord got ‘em outta Egypt by working tremendous miracles, then got them across the Red Sea by a stupendous one. Moses and Aaron led them, spoke for the Lord, but it was the Lord who did it.
Yet the People Israel, a large part of them, probably a majority, wanted to go back. They wanted to return to slavery rather than be free in the desert. That, even though the Lord had done all those incredible miracles right before their eyes and could certainly get them outta the stupid desert.
People are people, or in other words, sheeple, I guess, as the word that’s so often used in the blogs. We Americans were different. We were self-reliant, self-starters, hopeful, full of life, ready to build our own lives without any Nanny State or Nanny State false-gods. Now, like ancient Israel, we’re right back in the “fleshpots of Egypt”. We’ve almost (not quite) come full circle. And the MSM is the false-god’s priesthood.
It’s just incredible, but there it is.
An Préachán
These people have jumped the shark more often that the water skiing show at Ft Lauderdale.
Now that football season is here, nobody’s paying attention much less believing them.
Seemed to me AoS headline “Romney Accurately Stating The Dynamics of the Race” pretty much captured the gist. If that’s damaging now, what does it matter? It would only prove indeed the jackass party has indeed finally bought the vote.
I hope they advertise it over and over – to the 5% of the electorate that supposedly hasn’t made up its mind.
Free advertising if you ask me.
As I see it the majority of the members in the MSM are conducting partisan politics plain and simple. They are dedicated leftists and are promoting their causes. They themselves don’t see anything odd about it at all. They just assume that all right thinking people think the same way as they do and up until the advent of the internet and the emergence of alternative conservative voices they pretty much had things all their way. Now, with the economic foundations of their empires being threatened their voices have become frightened and much more strident and partisan.
The way to deal with all this is to simply shut them out. Don’t watch NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN news programs. I don’t watch them because I assume they are lying to me. The best way to deal with them is to deprive them of a base of viewers and thus advertisers. When the losses get big enough their corporate owners will either force change or shut them down.
I’d like that comment posted.
Sorry sacks.
I’ve got zero sympathy for Romney. The media isn’t any more dishonest or one-sided this election than it has been in every election. They get away with it because our candidates allow them to get away with it. If you know the media will scream bloody murder over tax cuts then why propose a 0.0001% tax cut when you can propose a 25% tax cut? You’ll get the same sob stories, the same reports of evil Republicans stealing welfare checks, and the same predictions of fat cats getting fatter. So why be timid, why be meek, why let the media intimidate you? Go bold or stay home. There are enough Democrats in the race.
The only real scandal is that the media and the universities have been conquered by the ignorant marxist mobs.
Obama as an elected president and this Susan Rice(who?)being appointed “ambassador” to the Nations United Against America are the walking-talking exemplars of the fallacy of Affirmative Action taken beyond Grammar School. These are indeed “social promotions”.
Hillary Clinton as a Secretary of State is the flying-around-everywhere-exemplar of Political Correctness carried to absurdity.
So…..here we are. It’s in our court now, remember this Obama/Rice/Hillary debacle on Election day coming up.
I only hope that our truncated attention spans haven’t deleted all of this tragedy by then.
Despite all of this murderous tragedy, Obama could be re-elected by his claque who simply couldn’t care less about his in office “performance” as long as he continues to stick it to th’ Establishment.
We have a very, very sad situation on our hands.
Is there a problem you have with calling these people Propagandists?
Meanwhile, the LA Times is sitting on a videotape of Obama at a “going-away” party for a rabid Palestinian militant.
All I can guess is they don’t want us to see his long, rambling, hate-filled rant about Jews.
Romney was merely stating facts as published by both Gallup and Bureau of Labor Statistics.
But, MSM has to create propaganda in order to quickly alter attention from Middle Eastern Fiasco (a la Jimmy Carter ’79) in order to support President Obama’s re-election bid.
This is called “flim-flammery.” Or better yet, “Right/hand, Left/hand Rule.”
Here is President Obama’s Directive for next 46 days:
1. Propagandist must have access to intelligence concerning events and public opinion.
2. Propaganda must be planned and executed by only one authority.
a. It must issue all the propaganda directives.
b. It must explain propaganda directives to important officials and maintain their morale.
c. It must oversee other agencies’ activities which have propaganda consequences
3. The propaganda consequences of an action must be considered in planning that action.
4. Propaganda must affect the enemy’s policy and action.
a. By suppressing propagandistically desirable material which can provide the enemy with useful intelligence
b. By openly disseminating propaganda whose content or tone causes the enemy to draw the desired conclusions
c. By goading the enemy into revealing vital information about himself
d. By making no reference to a desired enemy activity when any reference would discredit that activity
5. Declassified, operational information must be available to implement a propaganda campaign
6. To be perceived, propaganda must evoke the interest of an audience and must be transmitted through an attention-getting communications medium.
7. Credibility alone must determine whether propaganda output should be true or false.
8. The purpose, content and effectiveness of enemy propaganda; the strength and effects of an expose; and the nature of current propaganda campaigns determine whether enemy propaganda should be ignored or refuted.
9. Credibility, intelligence, and the possible effects of communicating determine whether propaganda materials should be censored.
10. Material from enemy propaganda may be utilized in operations when it helps diminish that enemy’s prestige or lends support to the propagandist’s own objective.
11. Black rather than white propaganda may be employed when the latter is less credible or produces undesirable effects.
12. Propaganda may be facilitated by leaders with prestige.
13. Propaganda must be carefully timed.
a. The communication must reach the audience ahead of competing propaganda.
b. A propaganda campaign must begin at the optimum moment
c. A propaganda theme must be repeated, but not beyond some point of diminishing effectiveness
14. Propaganda must label events and people with distinctive phrases or slogans.
a. They must evoke desired responses which the audience previously possesses
b. They must be capable of being easily learned
c. They must be utilized again and again, but only in appropriate situations
d. They must be boomerang-proof
15. Propaganda to the home front must prevent the raising of false hopes which can be blasted by future events.
16. Propaganda to the home front must create an optimum anxiety level.
a. Propaganda must reinforce anxiety concerning the consequences of defeat
b. Propaganda must diminish anxiety (other than concerning the consequences of defeat) which is too high and which cannot be reduced by people themselves
17. Propaganda to the home front must diminish the impact of frustration.
a. Inevitable frustrations must be anticipated
b. Inevitable frustrations must be placed in perspective
18. Propaganda must facilitate the displacement of aggression by specifying the targets for hatred.
19. Propaganda cannot immediately affect strong counter-tendencies; instead it must offer some form of action or diversion, or both.
So, Mother Jones, Bloomberg, ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN HuffPo, MSNBC et al have the same “talking points,”i.e. Gallup and BLS statements. Some “central control” is spreading these “talking points?”
Oh! By the way, the Author of these 19 points? Joseph Goebbels. God Bless America. Amen.
