When taking office, the President does not swear to create jobs. He does not swear to “grow the economy.” He does not swear to institute “fairness.” The only oath the President takes is this one:
I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.
By sending — literally — brownshirted enforcers to engage in — literally — a midnight knock at the door of a man for the non-crime of embarrassing the President of the United States and his administration, President Obama violated that oath. You can try to pretty this up (It’s just about possible probation violations! Sure.), or make excuses or draw distinctions, but that’s what’s happened. It is a betrayal of his duties as President, and a disgrace.

The guy is some kind of sleazeball who is hiding from the media and his parole officer, it’s his own choice to cover up the way he has.
As to his film, I suppose he would be personally in trouble for it now, sadly, even if Obambus and Hildabeast were good Americans and defended his rights 1000%. I salute him, slightly, for raising the ruckus, but maybe he should have thought this out a little more beforehand.
You would just love North Korea in the winter. Or maybe Libya. If you want to stay in America, you might want to learn some Americanism.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen the Instapundit so fired up. Usually it’s a little quip, or a ‘heh’; he seems a pretty laid back, phlegmatic type of guy.
I said the same thing over at Ed’s site. He almost never writes an essay-length post. When he does, it causes you to sit up and take notice. It’s much more effective and powerful, when he reserves them for such occasions.
I have to say that I agree with what Mark Steyn said yesterday, with my own addition—unless it is something the left cares about and is against, we do not have rule of law in America, but rule by legalisms. The first restrains power, the second gives it any pretext needed.
I will also say this–I have *long* been dubious about this business of letting the fate of the Republic depend upon the opinions of an uncommitted and ill-informed 5 to 7 percent of the populace. Especially given the propaganda the media and education establishments are always pushing out, which in the long term I have severe fears is going to eventually carry the day. Or at least result in the loss of a lot of acquired middle class wisdom that will have to be relearned.
It is my profound belief that the 45% of tne country that is solidy anti-Democrat needs to–sooner rather than later–simply present the uncomitted middle and the soft liberal side of aisle (i.e., liberal, but not leftist) with some ultimatums–doing that *will* result in this. Needs to be delivered in a way that does not assign blame to anyone we are hoping to give a reality check to, needs to be done in a way that does not box them in a corner and force them to side with the leftists, and it needs to be doe in a way to reduce their fears of what the anti-Democratic Party faction wishes to do if the main Democratic Party must be rejected–but it does need to be delivered, for the slippery slope is upon us.
We need to challenge the middle and the soft left and see what they are made of–to see if the people are actually still capable of being effective checks upon the government, and if not, to ponder what our courses of action should be–patience, firmness, or what have you.

And as I attempt to craft the message that needs to be sent, my portion, I think, would be this–”We understand you might not believe there is a double standard in how Republicans and Democrats, conservatives and liberals, are treated by the major social institutions of education and media in this country, but you just understand that we profoundly do, and I seriously doubt we are going to have any desire to stay one united people if this continues appreciably longer. We would wish you no ill-will, but we are not simply interested in living lives of being continually mocked by Ivy League grads who are always quick to point out what they think of as our shortcomings but never quite admit to any themselves; who always demand we follow all rules to the smallest dot on the smallest i when it concerns something they desire, but them grant themselves wholesale waivers and indulgences when it comes to other things. It’s a rigged game, and we see no reason for us to play it any longer. But we would rather see it fixed than entirely given up on.”

Isn’t it great to know our Commander in Chief taught constitutional law? I can stand living in a country with this narcissist Chicago machine underling as President but I’m not sure I can stand being in a country where the citizenry is ignorant enough to reelect him. The public (or roughly 50% of the public) is acting toward Obama like the cowering schoolboy whose been struck with a whip who says to the headmaster: “Thank you, sir. May I please have another?”
Where we are as a nation, thanks to “our” elites:

I think the media really cut their own throat on this one. The visual of this guy getting hauled off for “questioning” by the cops is just plain awful.
Our Saturday night local news here in Tampa consisted almost entirely of:
Middle-Eastern rioters burning American flags in Britain and elsewhere,
the coffins of the 4 slain Americans being carried off the airplane,
this guy getting hauled in for questioning surrounded by a platoon of cops, the weather (it might rain in Florida in the summer),
and the Gators beating Tennessee.
Of course, on the Sunday morning talk shows (that no one watches), members of the administration and the press (who are all the same folks) will somehow spin this situation as “Romney sucks.”

Obama gave “arab spring” political cover, he supported it and called it “democracy”, it’s actually islamist radicalization and escalating violence. Hillary’s dept ordered the guards, former Navy SEALS, to have no ammunition, providing a soft target. Obama did not attend security briefings and Hillary ignored clear warnings and solid intelligence.
How is supporting islamist radicalization not adhering to our enemies? How is disarming our security and ignoring warnings not giving our enemy al qaeda comfort and aid?
The White House and numerous top officials gave enormous amounts of guns to drug gangs in Fast&Furious, nearly 200 Mexicans and 2 US LEOs were murdered.
How is giving guns to drug gangs along the border not giving direct aid and comfort to our enemies? How are the murders of two LEOs not levying war against the states?
Someone tell me how these things are not treason.
