Courtesy of MEMRI, we have video of the attack on the U.S. embassy in Cairo, Egypt, on Tuesday, September 11, 2012. In the clip, the Islamists remove the American flag and raise the black flag of Islam in its place. They also call for the release of the blind sheikh, Omar Abdel Rahman. He is in U.S. prison for his role in the 1993 attack on the World Trade Center in New York.
I was a child when the President Carter lost Iran to the mullahs. Events in Egypt seem all too familiar.

Ambassador Steven’s assassination in Benghazi, Libya on 9-11, 2012 was only the second ambassador in modern times to have had a similiar fate as
Adolph “Spike” Dubs (August 4, 1920 – February 14, 1979)who was the United States Ambassador to Afghanistan from May 13, 1978, until his death in 1979. He was killed in an exchange of fire after a botched kidnapping attempt.
Ambassador Dubbs was assasinated because of a series of Foreign Policy mistakes committed by then President Jimmy Carter…culminating in the loss of Marines and troops in hapless mistakes with helicopters and other military miscalculations in Foreign Policy in the Middle East, deliberately planned by the Carter Administration. Now, these same errors are repeated by Mr. Obama’s administration. And Our US House of Representatives has its Democratic Socialists of America (CPC) with Mr. Grijalva leading the way and Nancy Pelosi giving fodder to this cabal of commies.
Sad, in the intervening years, with far left revolutionaries in US Administrative positions,both in the 70′s and now 2012, history has again repeated itself. What does it take for far left marxist/Islamist/sodomites to learn about history’s lessons and how fragile American Freedom, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness hang in the balance and are now, hanging by a thread?
Leaderless, heartless US Presidents have always led America and Americans down a primrose path to an abyss (marxism/leninism are lost social causes)…dark with despair(just like the former Soviet Union), shackled with debt and social woes.

I have a couple of questions about yesterdays events:
1. Libya has a demonstrably unstable political environmnet with a new and weak government. It was hatched with strong support from Al Queda and the MB was involved as well. Given those facts where were our Marines to defend the consulate? How come security was entrusted to outside libyan contractors? What were the Marines Rules of Engagement when the attack occured?
2. The Cairo embassy was emptied before the attack took place and protestors scaled the wall. What was our intelligence prior to the attack? Where were the Marines to repel the attack? What were their Rules of Engagement?
3. We know that the Muslim Brotherhood, the father of Al Queda, was involved in fomenting the attacks, or at least gave a green light to them. Why hasn’t our government and President condemned the MB? Where is Congress voice regarding these attacks? Where are the calls for investigation concerning embassy security?
This situation could have resulted in two hostage crises, in addition to the deaths of 4 American diplomats. Why was our response so poor?

The movie was most likely made by AL-quida, whatever their name is. I remember seeing on you tube the fake videos made by the Palestinians a few years ago. It was nicknamed Pallwood. Also, some off these supposed “slaughters” of innocent people that I would not put past the clowns. I contend they probably Christians that they murdered. Laugh if you want to but just as Ayers and his ilk believed that the ends justify’s the means. All of these malcontents are master manipulators.

Samizdat, WRT the USMC I haven’t seen any clear reports, but IIRC the attack was done with an RPG and the dead included two Marines. My guess (just a guess), is that this was an ambush and they got the first shot and, luck being on their side in this case, the first shot was the last shot.

I still want to know about the ROE and why an enormous amount of FMJ .223 wasn’t poured into the Al Queda scum who did this.
We badly need to hunt these pieces of human debris down, corner them, gut shoot ‘em and watch ‘em bleed out. No mercy, they are the lowest form of life on the chart and need to be treated as such.
Drone strikes with Hellfires are too sanitary and quick for A$$hats like this. They need more upclose and personal attention.
If we’re going to have embassies in these nuthouses, then we need to protect the diplomats. It should be a cause sure that if you attack our ambassador on US territory, you are going to suffer the consequences. So yes, Claymores, Napalm, and smart land mines. Vulcan cannon. More stuff I don’t want to name. Ruin the attacker’s day. Or don’t go there in the first place.
The film that supposedly started all this has been on you tube for months…they all get pissed off suddenly on 9/11? Whatever…it was a coordinated attack designed to illustrate American weakness. Period. Why were the Marines absent? Did the administration have intelligence warning of the coming attacks?

The USMC security detachments could have easily held these two embassies for 12 hours until a USMC MEU (floating in the Mediterranean 24/7) could respond to relieve them with the full weight and firepower of the U.S. Navy in support. But, NOOOOOOOO, not this administration. Surrender before victory every time…our Navy today is a “Global Force for Good”….God help us, please. Amen.

We know that host countries are responsible for external security of foriegn diplomatic missions. In Benghazi a securrity detail acting as a check point was supposedly overrun by the Al Queda attackers. However, it appears there was no security provided by the Morsi regime in Cairo. This is a regime that gets 1.5 billion dollars a year from the American people. Why hasn’t our government registered a blistering attack on Morsi for this failure? Why hasn’t Morsi apologized for this gross afront?
I admit one question is rhetorical. The answer to the latter is that the Cairo invasion was staged with Morsi’s consent and approval. Why we haven’t protested is the better question.

When the Iranian embassy was seized in 1979, I was 19 years old, away at college and considered myself a liberal Democrat. Over the next year, I slowly found myself questioning, and distancing myself from, liberalism for a whole variety of reasons, all related to the Carter administration’s boneheaded policies. Still when I went to vote in 1980, I thought I’d vote for Carter’s re-election, but in the voting booth I pulled the lever for Reagan. And began a swift transition to conservatism, where I made my intellectual home.
Here’s hoping there’s a critical mass of young voters today who are willing to dump Obama and liberalism and sign up for conservatism, like I did all those decades ago.

This supposed muslim outrage over this movie is a transparent excuse. It was no accident that all this happened on the aniversary of Sep 11. They had been planning this for weeks, and this movie was just a bogus pretext.
It is useful to compare the muslim reaction to this supposedly awful film, to christian reactions to equally bad works of art, and the lefts reaction to both.
Christian reaction:
1. Publically criticise the artist and the work, and tell their people they should not see it.
2. Peacefully lobby the funder of the artist to stop funding them.
When Christians do this, the left accuses them of censorship, and calls them unamerican and intolerant.
Muslim reaction:
1. Rioting and property destruction.
2. Threats of murder, and actual murder.
When Muslims do this, the left apoligizes to them for offending them, and advocates steps to make sure that things that “offend religions” are never done again.
Does anybody see a slight double standard here on the part of the left.
Here is my standard if somebody offends your religion:
1. You can criticise them all you wish, short of incitement to riot.
2. You can non-violently pressure their sponsor to defund them.
3. You can publically complain to their gov, provided you recognize their gov has no requirement to take any action against any private citizen to satisfy your complaint, and the defense that the activity is protected by free speech is a perfectly reasonable one.
4. If anybody likes the work, and thinks it is OK, they can publically criticise you for doing steps 1, 2, or 3.
5. You cannot respond with riots, destruction of property, threats to murder, or murder, no matter how deeply offensive the work was.
6. Any group or individual who takes step 5 against one of our people, should be responded to with equal violence to deter them from doing it again.
7. Any gov who tolerates people who take step 5, and does not assist us in stopping them, or at least apoligize to us for their actions if they are incapable of helping, should be sanctioned by our gov.
