Peter Baker, White House correspondent for the New York Times, tweets that the vice president played to his type, again:
There was a time when, even if you disagreed with a particular politician in America, you could at least look up to them for how they comported themselves in public.
That was a good time. But it’s long gone now.

Despite the fact that he was a star prep school athlete, Biden avoided the draft and Vietnam with a claim of asthma.
As senator he falsely claimed to have come under fire in Iraq and Afghanistan (http://hotair.com/archives/2008/09/23/not-bidens-tuzla-dash-but-getting-closer/), even indicating that his experience in these matters was greater than that of John McCain.
Today’s cursing to the firefighters is just another example of his clumsy and vulgar tendency to try to portray himself as fit to walk in the company of the heroic.
I think Biden’s played the “choking game” one too many times.
Stately.
Gee, I wonder who has more class, Foot in Mouth Biden or Dan Quayle? And who got more grief? That’s right, the Republican.
Someone should remind Biden that political discourse is still a BFD.
The demented are prone to profane outbursts.
