Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) wandered back into the territory of questioning Mitt Romney’s tax returns in his speech before the Democratic National Convention this evening.
“It’s obvious why there’s only been one,” he said of the 2010 return released by Romney, noting that it showed he “pays a lower tax rate than middle-class families.”
Reid said in July that an anonymous source told him Romney hadn’t paid taxes in 10 years, though he didn’t directly reference that charge to the DNC.
“We can only imagine what new secrets would be revealed if he showed the American people a dozen years of tax returns like his father did,” Reid said. “This is about more than just a piece of paper… this is about leveling with the American people and creating a level playing field for them.”
“The American people are still asking who is Mitt Romney but the American people know Barack Obama.”
The majority leader said “Obama’s strength of character leads him to do the right thing even when it isn’t the easy thing.”
“Some said he shouldn’t move heaven and earth to get bin Laden but President Obama made the tough and right call,” he said.
“His whole life there have been who told him what he couldn’t or shouldn’t do but America has a president who knows what we must do,” Reid continued, calling the Republican Party one of “wouldn’ts” and “won’ts.”
“I’ve had a front row seat to watch the Tea Party take over the Republican Party,” he said. “We shouldn’t let them take over the Senate and the White House. “We must stop the Tea Party before the Senate falls into the hands of extremists and ideologues … who don’t recognize common ground even when they’re standing on it.”
$16 trillion in debt. How many years has Reid refused a vote on the budget?
Ole Harry is being dishonest with American people but I wonder if he actually believes what he is saying.
Well, if I Romney I would answer thusly – you show me yours, and I will show you mine.
And, this would include EVERYTHING the Radical-in-Chief is hiding, which others have revealed in past elections.

Perhaps a quid pro quo is in order.
Romney should place his cards on the table, instead of dancing around the issue. Taking this tack would place the other side in an untenable situation, and this is the desired result.

Harry Reid, come off the senate floor and make your baseless claim about “the word being out” with regard to Romney’s tax returns. The cadaverous punk and coward wouldn’t dare step away from his immunity perch on the senate floor and expose himself to a legal slander suit.
What a coincidence! The word’s out that Harry Reid’s son Rory is a lobbyist for a Chinese solar panel firm and is looking for a $5 billion deal in NV and his dad just so happens to be the Senate Majority Leader. Yet he and Harry have sworn they didn’t discuss it between them. Yeah, I’ll believe THAT.
I still believe that Axelrod already has Romney’s tax returns for every year since he made his first dollar mowing lawns in 7th grade. He got them from the appointed Obama flunkies in the IRS and gave them to his oppo research “unbiased” “objective” “non-partisan” “public interest” 501(c)(3) orgs like MediaMatters. They’re itching to run the ads they’ve already produced questioning line 2228c, Part a, Schedule 375463, where Romney avoided $150 in tax by taking – gasp – one of those despicable, evil things known as a deduction.
But they can’t until Romney voluntarily surrenders the returns, or otherwise Obama would be seen as guilty of an impeachable offense for violating Romney’s privacy, and using the IRS for partisan political purposes.
Given that somehow, in both the Clinton and Obama administrations, conservative individuals and organizations tend to get audited at a much higher rate than liberals, and that Obama has heavily politicized every branch of the federal government, I would not preclude this possibiility.

I went back three months.
I tracked every news release for Reid. More than 90% of his attacks on the Right are released on Mondays.
He had several out-liars like burn olympic uniforms but that one truly does not belong as an attack. I kept it because he was so rabid about it, he spewed spittle.
Another outliar was on the same day, July 12. The essense was Mitt would never be accepted as cabinet member since he would have to relaese ten years and has money stashed in Cayman and Swizterland. Since this is a revisit of the Great Democratic Party Tax Hoax which was released on a Monday/Tuesday, it could be said my classification can go either way on this one.
The other outliar was a Friday remark about Romney and Hurricanes. My suspicion was the Friday release needed to be amde immediately to have any impact and taht he hoped teh spasmadic media would carry it over to Monday. And they did. “The height of hypocrisy for Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan to make a pretense of showing sympathy for the victims of Hurricane Isaac when their policies would leave those affected by this disaster stranded and on their own.”
While romney demonstrated his support for national disaster preparedness adn funding during hte debates, Obama stripped money out of FEMA.
He ran it dry for several years, refusing disaster declarartions on same without reason and only providing fire training for other disaster as if seasoned firefighters need fire fighting 101 (no Individual family grants, no infrastructure recovery, no responder pay.)
Sorry, I digressed into showing the dem/left/progressive hipocrisy and lies which is an easy thing to do.
The point is, Reid is scheduled for an attack on every Monday.
The secrets the American people need to see are contained in Reid’s tax returns. How he became a multimillionaire while spending almost his entire adult life on the government’s payroll. Romney earned his money. Reid stole his.

Under the Oil Polution Act, a single drop of oil in national water is immediately a federal response. We had EPA response teams, foreign countries, Coast guard, everyone ready to go out and skim around the site. The sooner the rising oil is captured, the less it spreads and the smaller its impact.
Obama did nothing but block everyone until the oil spread out, hit shore and the states immediately responded. The states bagan billing.
I counted 60 days when it happened and wondered what the Fark. The video has 70+ days before Obama took action. He was told what to do and he refused. By actions and appearances, it is intentional.
So not only an Empty Chair, a Zero jobs created, he is also Inaction or Deliberate Lead from Behind.
Romney should say “I will release ALL of my tax returns when Obama releases his transcripts”.
That will shut Reid up.
Congress has a popularity rating of ~11%. If Romney manned up and started attacking Reid and Pelosi as 1% and bailout beneficiaries the American people will have a sympathetic ear.
And what about your tax returns Mr. Reid?? And also what about that $5 billion solar energy deal you and your son have cooked up with a muslim group from the Middle East? I’ve often wondered why God made useless little creatures like the common house fly….that has no other purpose in life than to annoy. Then along comes Harry Reid and the house fly seems less annoying.
