—apologies to Hoagy Carmichael and “Rockin’ Chair”
Ol’ empty chair’s got me—it injures my pride
Can’t run on my record of failures I can’t hide.
National debt’s climbin’ to the stratosphere
And at the top of it, there sits an empty chair.
Oh, my GM bailout, and my cash to cronies
Stimulated nothing but a torrent of bankruptcy
It’s a dismal record; Election day is near
And I’m just an empty chair…

How is it they are still polling so close? Never under estimate the stupidity of some of us!
Romney IS NOT a conservative. So it is close because the 0bumbler has the liberals and Mitt has the Independents. As a conservative the only difference I see is the (D) cronies have a blue tie while the (R) cronies have a red one. Both are trying to be first in line at the tough when the tax dollars get poured in.
My personal efforts were in the primary where I worked to get an (R) senator defeated. He won so now I vote against him come November.
The quickest route to wealth in America is politics. Scumbags get elected then steal money hand over fist. That is the real problem in America. We have gone from a democracy to a Kleptocracy. It is time to forget party politics and hunt for Politicians that have the moral backbone to resist the easy money from ‘K’ street.
If Romney can get conservatives to vote for him, he will win in a cake walk. 0bama has peaked.
My, what a lot of gibberish.
You seem to attack Romney because he is “not a conservative,” whatever you mean by that—then proceed to babble on about having worked to defeat a Republican senator (was he, too, “not a conservative?”) in favor of someone else. Then you babble about the corrupting influence of money in politics—something which, at least, Romney, despite being “not a conservative,” would not likely be subject to—and proceed from there to demand that the government be filled with paragons for whom money holds no allure.
It would be interesting to learn where you hope to find these paragons, were you able to construct a single coherent sentence. In the meantime, consider that “conservative” is an adjective, not a noun. There are no “conservatives,” merely people who are conservative in relation to other people’s positions.
It is unclear why you choose to attack Romney. He is not a perfect man, but—even if there were some “perfect man”—he is the alternative to the disaster we currently have in the White House. As the sole viable alternative, he’s as perfect as it gets; either you support him, or you are in favor of continuing the current march to disaster.
He sounds like a 19-year-old college sophomore who discovered his first Libertarian web site six months ago and fell in love. He’s got it bad. His face is flushed. His pulse is pumping.
Don’t forget some people can be bought for the price of a welfare check.
Very obscure tune… maybe we could put it to something we all know?
“Very obscure tune?” It is one of the most famous tunes by one of the most famous American songwriters of the 20th century.
Twinkle twinlke little chair
How we wonder why you’re there.
Empty prom–ises so high
Glint of envy in your eye…
Twinkle twinkle little chair
How we wonder why you’re there.
Now that one everyone could sing.
Or in honor of the ‘sobriety’ of the democrats:
Starkle starkle little twink
I’m not so empty as I am I think
But you know, the behinder I sit here
The longer I get.
A very good buzz ballad!
Twinkle, twinkle little Bar
How I wonder what you are
Up above the rest so high
Your carbon footprint in the sky
Twinkle, twinkle little Bar
Headed for defeat, oh yes you are.
Though Romney has been a flip-flopper before, he’ll govern as a conservative because he knows he has to watch his right flank. Huckabee and Santorum have a vital role to play from the bench in a Romney Administration: Do not let Romney stray under pain of a primary challenge. It was effective in Congress, and it’ll be effective in the White House. By maintaining the constant threat of a primary challenge, we force our politicians to speak and act like conservatives.
