The Democrats’ presidential nominee in 2004 penned a fundraising email for President Obama today, urging supporters to “respond quickly and powerfully to attacks from the other side.”
“What makes 2012 different from when I ran for president in 2004 is that the other side doesn’t have to wait for an outside group to come along with false attacks,” said Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.). “Consider this: Swift Boat Veterans for Truth spent about $23 million on smear ads against me in 2004. This year, the Romney campaign and super PACs have promised to spend more than $1 billion.”
It was probably little coincidence that the Dems deployed the Senate Foreign Relations Committee chairman the day after two speeches — those by Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice — hit hard at the administration for a failed foreign policy.
“Barack Obama has been a tremendous leader who has moved our country forward in more ways than we even probably now realize. He needs another four years to get the job done,” Kerry said. “If you tune in to the convention, you’ll see that Mitt Romney and his allies have no qualms about misleading voters if it means defeating President Obama.”
“But their attacks won’t work if enough people step up to protect the President’s record,” the Kerry email continued. “Don’t let them get away with it.”
Kerry has been given the prime speaking slot just before Obama next Thursday at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte. His speech is expected to focus on Afghanistan, Iraq, and the killing of Osama bin Laden, with no love lost for fellow Massachusetts politician Romney.
The fear…it burns.

And the good Senator corroborated the “smears” when he admitted that the whole “Christmas in Cambodia” story was made up. Only in Kerry’s febrile mind does telling the truth constitute a “smear”.
The truth about Kerry is so dirty that telling it is washing his face with mud.
I am just thinking here but has’nt everyone already stepped up to protect the president’s record? Just saying………………
What I found especially funny was Kerry’s comment that Obama’s policies have helped in ways we can’t even appreciate right now. They’re so bereft of anything good to say about the preezy that they have to make extraordinary comments like this which implicitly state that we’re all too dumb to appreciate Obama’s wonderfulness.Unbelievable cluelessness!
John Kerry’s babbling about “swiftboating.” Meanwhile, Obama’s borrow-and-spend habit is putting the US on a swift boat to China…

Eye-witnesses pointing out that a Democrat “war hero’s” record is largely made up of obfuscation and fabrication = smear.

Kerry committed treason when he, while still in the active Naval Reserves, twice went to Paris to undermine our peace negotiations with the North Vietnamese. He was giving aid and comfort to our enemy during time of war. His activities in this regard we’re accurately chronicled in the Swift Boaters exposé.
Some part of the Swift Boat charges has to have been disproven as there were so many. Just odds are in favor.

I wonder if Kerry plans to aid the cause by contributing the ~$20,000 he saved in taxes by parking his yacht in a tax haven?
$20,000 – pshaw! If he had the courage of his convictions (admittedly a hard thing for Mr Kerry to locate), he’d volunteer at least $1 million.
IIRC, he was trying to avoid paying $500,000 in taxes.

The Swift Boat team reported the truth about Senator Kerry’s Vietnam service and his subsequent lies regarding U.S troops. He threw his service medals over the fence at the White House, then tried to capitalize on the fraud of his brief tour in Vietnam. His actions were disgraceful and hypocritical. He is a pompous fool living off the productivity of others.
One small correction. Kerry didn’t throw his medals over the fence. He threw other returning soldier’s medals over the fence handed to him. The scumbag wasn’t about to part with his own bragging rights to be used as political propaganda.

I’m STILL waiting for Kerry to release his “honorable” discharge papers. Last I heard he “released” it to a Boston Globe reporter around 2004 who reported that there was nothing reportable to report but he understood that Kerry wouldn’t want the public to see it as it was nothing out of the ordinary but was deeply personal to the senator. I haven’t heard any reporting about that report since.
