Fox News Channel’s Joy Lin tweets the news:
Romney on Akin: “Today, his fellow Missourians urged him to step aside, and I think he should accept their counsel and exit the Senate race”
Update: According to a tweet from WISC TV, Gov. Scott Walker says Akin should exit.
@GovWalker: Akin’s comments were ignorant at best & completely outrageous….he should step aside
Update: The Romney campaign just issued the following statement.
“As I said yesterday, Todd Akin’s comments were offensive and wrong and he should very seriously consider what course would be in the best interest of our country. Today, his fellow Missourians urged him to step aside, and I think he should accept their counsel and exit the Senate race.” –Mitt Romney

Akin refusing to step aside tells me that he’s more interested in what’s best for Akin and less concerned with what’s best for America.
With that attitude, shouldn’t be in public office any way.
Bah. I guess we’re all wimps now.
I’ll ask again, someone who knows Missouri, who steps up if he steps down?
I don’t care if Pee Wee Herman runs against McWhatsHerFace. Pee Wee isn’t dumb enough to get baited into a trap like that.
You need another analogy. Pee Wee got busted and ruined for jerking off in a porn palace, remember?
I’m pretty sure snork knew that. And I’m pretty sure the use of the word “baited” wasn’t accidental.
Anyone know the Missouri rules on a 3rd-Party candidate stepping in now?
People on other sites have mentioned that Missouri has a “Sore Loser” law, meaning that anybody who lost to Akin in the primary is barred from trying to run 3rd Party in the general.
But does the MO law bar a primary opponent from being the nominee if the primary winner steps aside?
“Mein Fuhrer, Steiner ….”
This has to be out there by now. I am not sure who is more delusional, though.
Ryan agrees with Akin on policy – the only thing he doesn’t agree with him on is how a woman’s body works when getting raped. But then the guy who he probably got this from was and adviser to Mittens in 2007 in his failed run for POTUS in 2008.
This just elevates the war on women by the misogynist conservatives these last 2 years. It will only get worse for the conservatives thankfully
