The chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus said this morning on CNN that he made “absolutely nothing” out of Vice President Biden’s remarks in Virginia that Mitt Romney, by unleashing Wall Street, would “put you all back in chains.”
“I would never have even paid much attention to it, but for the fact that campaigns nowadays are waiting for any kind of little nugget to try to create an atmosphere of more and more discord,” said Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (D-Mo.).
“And so it makes absolutely no sense that some kind of a little throwaway line is now being used to make Vice President Biden appear to have been throwing out these words in order to somehow attract dumb African-Americans who if they hear the words chains are going to automatically vote for him and President Obama,” he added.
Cleaver was asked if he’d be charging Romney with making racially charged statements had the former Massachusetts governor said the same thing as Biden.
“I’m not sure. I think it depends on the context. I know Vice President Biden. And when you look at the video that you just showed, there’s only a sprinkling of African-Americans there clearly the minority in that crowd,” Cleaver said.
“If he were at some kind of NAACP, SCLC event or some group with just African-Americans, I would say maybe he tried to generate some thoughts about things gone by,” he continued. “In that setting, it made no sense. The people out there weren’t thinking about the history of race relations in that community. They came to hear the vice president.”
So combined with the NAACP’s and Black Caucus’ non-defense of Allen West and Joe Biden’s blatant racial epithet to a mostly black crowd, race has become a one-sided political issue whereby your politics determines your guilt for racial issues.
And why do the Right continue to play this game?

If Ryan had been discussing putting chains on his tires in the winter Cleaver would’ve linked the chains to the color of the tires as “code”. Wouldn’t matter if the crowd had been 100% white… Biden clearly was using a slavery metaphor. To suggest otherwise is silly. We all know whites are supposed to feel race guilt, so saying there are more whites in the crowd only makes it more so.

This very derogatory term was originated by, believe it or not, Malcolm X, to describe those blacks who genuflected to the white leadership (in present times, the millionaire white leadership of the democratic party), who will do whatever they are instructed to do by the millionaire white leaders of the democratic party, so that the house niggers can maintain and increase their own personal wealth and influence amongst the white ruling class.
Of course, the ordinary black folks in the inner city are denied – by the WHITE MILLIONAIRE DEMOCRATIC LEADERS and their HOUSE NIGGERS – school choice which, though not a panacea to alleviate the black inner city pathologies, would certainly go a long way to moving these unfortunate souls into the mainstream of society.
Of course, the House Niggers also promote welfare for all and any other programs to keep poor blacks on the dole and uneducated.
Frankly, today’s black leadership puts to shame the efforts of the KKK to destroy – for generation upon generation – the black family.

Couple of points about your rant.
A) Malcolm X did NOT originate the term “house nigger”. It has been a deroatory name used for centuries by both whites and blacks.
Whites would say it to demean a well spoken free-black person, implying that their “intelligence and civility” must have come from being a house servant to a white person rather than from their own experiences.
Blacks would use it to differentiate among themselves….the “authentic suffering” of the “field nigger” could was often used to insult the manliness of those peforming the easier forms of servitude inside the mansion. The implication was, (then and now) that a “house nigger” was a sell-out, licking the boots of the Master in exchange for the better clothes, food, and environment it afforded, at the expense of his fellow “real” slave.
Read some actual history…diaries, newspapers, letters etc. from the 1750-1850 timeframe, and you’ll see Malcolm X merely repeated a phrase as od as Blacks in America
B) The KKK didnt care about the “Black Family” at all one way or the other. They were a racist group bent on subjugation as a means of segregation. If blacks stayed Married in Sucessful Healthy Nuclear Families AND were kept out of all levels of White Society, that was fine with them. If they disintegrated into mobs of mongrels and did the same, that would be just as good. They didnt care about Black Families.
What the KKK wanted was for Blacks (men) to remain poor, un-armed, and unable to vote. This, through intimidation and violence, would prevent them from participating in the traditional roles of Citizens, like freedom of movement, being armed, and voting, as such “luxuries” tends to produce a desire to preserve and protect these things, and eventually leads to an expectation of parity in social tatus as fellow citizens.
The Klan wanted nothing to do with Black People at all, family or otherwise….and would have been happy to see them all shipped back to Africa, except for their (white mans) inability to labor afield in the hot humid pre-undustrial South.

They truly believe already that whites want to put them in chains. Thus, they need to overcome – as in “We’ll shall overcome” – whitey, not racial oppression. Only those who are not racist against whites understand how this is an undisguised atttempt to convincen them – and agree with those who have been black all their life – that white people want to enslave them. And that is the audience Biden was trying to reach.

For those who are so sensitive about the bondage of their relatives over 150 years ago, it is amazing to see how complacent they are concerning the condescension of a White leader imitating the patois of the poorest Black and asserting the possibility of Republicans putting them back in chains or shackles as he meant to say. Cleaver was among those who, despite being unable to confirm this with video being taken at the time, asserted that Tea Partiers repeatedly used a racial slur toward the Congressional Black Caucus during their victory walk among the crowd at the time of the Obamacare vote.
