The Obama campaign reacted to Rep. Paul Ryan joining the GOP ticket with the following fundraising email. It smells of panic, and shows that the Democrats are gearing up to paint Ryan as “extreme.”
Friend –
Paul Ryan will be Mitt Romney’s running mate.
What you need to know right now: This election is about values, and today Romney doubled down on his commitment to take our country back to the failed policies of the past.
Congressman Paul Ryan is best known as the author of a budget so radical The New York Times called it “the most extreme budget plan passed by a House of Congress in modern times.” With Mitt Romney’s support, Ryan would end Medicare as we know it and slash the investments we need to keep our economy growing — all while cutting taxes for those at the very top.
Over the next few days, Romney’s campaign and its allies will tell a very different story about Paul Ryan.
Our job is to make sure Americans know the truth about what Romney’s choice says about him as a candidate and leader, and to stand with President Obama and Vice President Biden at another major moment in this campaign.
Say you’re with them:

Election Day is closer than you think — make a donation to fund this campaign in the time we have left.

I’m sure they had letters written with Rubio’s name and all the others all ready to go. I’m also sure the donkey PACs and MSM had attack ads and pieces all ready to go no matter who the choice was. Unfortunately, we’ll never know what they were going to say about Rubio, but whatever it was, it would be racist if a Republican said it.
Paul Ryan, author of a budget plan SO RADICAL it cut the planned growth rate of government spending to a point that revenue might eventually catch up. Crazy man thinks we ought to have a government we can afford.
Do they think this kind of letter will actually succeed in raising money, even from the choir? I do not think these political operatives really understand how most folks think. I mean, they would be far better off just asking for donations without all the negative nonsense. “This is what we stand for. Please donate.”
I have yet to get a solicitation from the Republicans without some kind of alarmism about the other side. Yes, I know the Left are scumbags, and their agenda repulses me, but I still do not respond to the alarmism. Tell me about you, not about the other guy.
Political operatives do not understand the rest of humanity, being totally immersed in politics as they are. No perspective.
Imagine a Romney fund-raising letter like this:
“I am a businessman with great experience in turning around failing enterprises. Part of turning around America is fixing the spending in DC. Paul Ryan is a budget expert, head of the Budget Committee in Congress. Together, we are going to get a derailed America back on track.”
Forget the other guy. Tell me about you. Give me something to vote for, not against.
That’s not what Alinsky said, and Alinsky put a fringe group into power that represents the furthest left 5% of the country.
The days are gone when integrity, honesty, truthfulness and honor counted. We have to fight fire with fire or succumb to the flames.
Damn right!
The majority of the people getting these emails are people who already know who they’re going to vote for. This letter is meant to get them to dig up more money.
– is filling our atomospherics.
Smells of Bovine Scatology… like the wise man said, “A fool and his money shall soon part…”
