Yes, that’s 70. Seven times ten. In other words, a lot of scandals highlighting the fact that President Obama pretty much doesn’t care how taxpayer money is spent (as long as he can divert some of it to Big Labor), in a run-up to his attempt to get re-elected.
House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee Chairman John Mica (R-Fla.) said Tuesday that there could be as many as 70 more conferences held by the General Services Administration (GSA) that his committee could need to examine for waste and abuse.
“First we saw Las Vegas, then we saw Virginia and now we are told there may be … more than seventy conferences we are going to have to look at,” Mica said in an interview on Fox News.
Didn’t Obama promise to go through the budget “line by line” to root out wasteful spending? Wait — that requires having a budget, and under the Democrats we haven’t had one for three years.
Mica is holding a hearing on GSA’s Gone Wild spending sprees today. If he gets the agency to cooperate with his investigation, we could be looking at nearly a scandal a day from now to November. That’ll do wonders for Obama’s sinking approval rating. So, of course, the agency won’t cooperate. It will take its cues from how Obama’s Department of Labor (Comrade!) is handling the looming sequestration layoffs.
