George Washington School of Law Professor John Banzhaf is demanding that Catholic University in Washington D.C. remove crosses and Christian symbols so as not to offend Muslim sensibilities.
He has filed a complaint with the District of Columbia government, demanding the boot of government intervene against Catholic. Fox:
The Washington, D.C. Office of Human Rights confirmed that it is investigating allegations that Catholic University violated the human rights of Muslim students by not allowing them to form a Muslim student group and by not providing them rooms without Christian symbols for their daily prayers.
Realize of course that Catholic University is a private institution. Attacks on the freedom of the Catholic Church are the sort of things thug regimes do around the world and throughout history.
The only thing more frightening than asking a government to force a church to remove religious symbols is perhaps the fact that law professor John Banzhaf is teaching legions of subservient law students such dangerous and un-American nonsense.
I wonder what would happen if the bishop countersued, applying the same standard to GWU, saying that, since Banzhaf offends Catholic sensibilities, Banzhaf should be removed! How about that?
He needs to leave and find another job. No reason why an institution should change for one person.
Why stop there? Sue to force the school to change it’s name, too. After all, they might be offended by that.

There are two different schools here. The Professor teaches at George Washington University Law. The target is Catholic University. Get it?

I thought this was the loony tunes who wanted to sue McDonads for their food being to cheap, to tasty and to readily available. He doesn’t list that directly on his bio but hints at it. But far more nanny statism is listed, and he’s biased with such boasts for suing for “new police procedures for dealing with wife beaters,” Not domestic violence but just the men. I wonder if he’ll regret that when lesbians start getting hauled in for wife beating? The man is a blight on society.

All across the US, Catholic elementary schools and high schools have crucifixes on the walls, and teach Catholic morality to a student body that is increasingly non-Catholic (often majority). The parents (many, even a majority, nonwhite) send their children there (and pay high tuition) to avoid the public schools, which avoid teaching any sort of morality at all.

Catholic University should remove its crosses the minute they tear down every mosque in America and every other Judeo-Christian nation.
This is a country based upon Judeo-Christian heritage. You go first, radical Islam.
We have preachers that rage against sin, fire and brimstone style. You have those who rage against other religions, nations and teach stoning and firebombing. Traitorous law professors and other “academics” who abuse the meaning of the First Amendment should try to ploy their treason under the rule of those enemies of freedom they endorse. John the Baptist can relate to their fate in the afterlife, although not in the same place.
Catholic universities are free to welcome people of any faith to their university. They should also be free to stipulate the behavior of those attending their private university. They should be able to stipulate that any muslim understands and agrees that the university is first and foremost Catholic, and that any behavior contrary to the Church’s beliefs are incompatible with his or her remaining at the university. Therefore,any muslim who fails to comply with these stipulations will result in summary removal from the university. The muslims are free to leave at any time.
If memory serves, there is no Muslim student at Catholic U who agrees to be offended. One article I read quoted one of them as saying “We knew it was a Catholic school when we came here. How could we be offended?”
Part of larger Georgetown U, which employs the openly racist Michael Eric Dyson. America is unrecognizable to me. This man should be fired. So should Dyson. Neither has a place in American academics.

One person, some time ago, published a book (in reality, a tome) about this very same subject called: Das Kapital, yep, the MAN Karl Marx. Later, came his US counterparts Cloward-Piven. Not satisfied with these two, Saul Alinsky and Gramsci, sought to expand upon this basic tenet (a small minority holding sway over the majority). Recent day successes (if one can call it that) are the Soviet Union, China, and Cuba. We here in the USA call these three experiments communism.
So, this one professor (there must be others) is seeking to decimate an institution with some double speak (first amendment rights, etc.) and his religious rights? Funny, as a child, this professor most certainly was educated as a christian of some sort. OH! He left the “flock?”
Now he’s religionless, is that correct? O.K., why is one individual imposing their religionless(pagan) view points on the masses? HUH! Wouldn’t it be easier for one person to do either one of two things:1) walk away from this imopsition or, 2) embrace this religion, fulfilling his professorial heart with God’s love, compassion and understanding?
Minority sway over a majority was NOT what our Founding Fathers had in mind, quite the opposite, they had “endowed by our Creator” as their bedrock beliefs. Firstly you have the right to express your opinion but we are a free society and the majority has spoken regarding the freedom of religion. You have the right to your opinion and that is where it should end. If you are the majority as one you have no right to make any change where it involves free people. Go back to your Marxism where people live where there are no individual/personal rights. YOU should go live where Marxism is practiced and find your joy there by trying to control individual lives and dictate what you feel should be the expression which you feel fits society at large.
