Boston Mayor Tom Menino has some explaining to do. This week he railed against successful national (and delicious) chicken chain Chick-Fil-A because its owner supports traditional marriage. Menino, showing no signs of the embarrassment that is due, had to walk that noise back once someone pointed out to him that his proposal to lock Chick-Fil-A out of Boston, based on the beliefs of its CEO, would be illegal. The law is supposed to be applied fairly without regard to race, color or creed. Elected officials don’t get to pick two out of three.
It turns out that Mayor Menino had no problem giving city land to the Islamic Society of Boston, which is led by an imam, Yusef al-Qaradawi, who is known for his strong stand on gayness.
“[A homosexual should be given] the same punishment as any sexual pervert . . . Some say we should throw them from a high place, like God did with the people of Sodom. Some say we should burn them.”
That’s not just “death to the gays,” it’s a pair of medieval ways to accomplish the feat.
Mayor Menino sat in an audience that this imam, who also supports Islamic terrorism, addressed. Mayor Menino had the city gift the ISB land valued at $1.8 million to build its mosque.
Until Menino explains himself, it’s fair to accuse him of at least tacitly supporting both Islamic and anti-gay terrorism. With his threat to Chick-Fil-A, you can throw in anti-Christian bigotry too.
Bryan – This just goes to prove the point I have been making repeatedly for a while now. For Leftists, the truth is what they want it to be, not what is empirically so. A ‘truth’ that is untrue is unmoored from reality, and, so, actions taken based on such a ‘truth’ can become contradictory. Thus, the mayor of Boston on one hand would like to deny Chik-Fil-A a venue in Boston because the owner advocates marriage between a man and a woman as being what marriage is, while the mayor the other hand has no problem sitting with a terrorist who would kill homosexuals.
Because the Leftists have the position they do regarding what truth is, one must conclude that being a Leftist is a form of mental illness.
Well which is it,the gays or the Islamists,you have our undivided attention!

So, that’s both Mumbles and Rahm caught in acts of contradiction concerning traditional-marriage-preferring CFA and various homophobic Islamic clerics (Rahm gave a big Chi-town welcome to Calypso Louie Fire-Cannon recently). The wheel spinning out of this is going to be interesting!
Mayors Menino and Emmanuel are progressives who preach and practice moral relativism. For individuals such as these the only truth, is the overarching need to control the masses by every available means, to stay in power: a corrupted mainstream media, overregulated businesses, massive entitlement programs, inferior education of lower-middle and middle-class children,a non-citizen class to exploit and ignore. It is not so strange that they are members of the same political party, which gave the United States the Jim Crow Laws.
