The Obama and Romney campaigns pulled advertising and went into a quiet mode following the mass shooting at a midnight showing of The Dark Knight Rises in Aurora, CO early Friday morning. That detente ended abruptly this morning. Top Obama campaign adviser David Axelrod launched two attacks on Mitt Romney on Twitter today, accusing Mitt Romney of secrecy and then linking to a CNN story that has either gone offline since Axelrod’s tweet, or he botched the link. The link Axelrod tweeted no longer works.
The attack on secrecy comes from a campaign led by a candidate who still has not released his college transcripts, and whose autobiographies have been found to be full of composite characters and made-up events that were written into Obama’s life as seminal moments.

They are desperate and just flailing around….the truth has caught up with you and your protectors and enablers in the media cannot keep it swept under the rug. The marxist-in-chief is going down….
Our marxist-in-drag administration is floundering and has realized they are dead in the water and headed back to Chit-town and then to prison after November!
Don’t know that the Obamuists went that dark; saw the singing “America the Beautiful” ad a couple of times yesterday including even on ESPN during the NASCAR race from Chicago.
It is unfortunately a pretty effective ad for appealing to a working class audience.
You say it’s an effective ad. I say it was a mistake for the Obama campaign to remind people that Mitt Romney can sing “America the Beautiful” to honor his country, while Barack Obama probably doesn’t even know the words to the song.
Yes. I think it’s something of a “backfire” ad for Obama. Plenty of folks are going hear stuffy old rich Romney singing away and realize a couple of key things. Romney really is a proud American. He may not be as stuffy as he’s been painted. And he can sing the whole song without a teleprompter.
I don’t know what “quiet mode” is supposed to mean.
We’ve gotten the same attack ads from both sides all weekend.
When I listen to Axelrod, I get the impression that he knows that the Obama campaign is swirling in the bowl.
