MIAMI – After interviewing nearly three dozen people in the George Zimmerman murder case, the FBI found no evidence that racial bias was a motivating factor in the shooting of Trayvon Martin, records released Thursday show.
Even the lead detective in the case, Sanford Detective Chris Serino, told agents that he thought Zimmerman profiled Trayvon because of his attire and the circumstances – but not his race.

Federal agents interviewed Zimmerman’s neighbors and co-workers, but none said Zimmerman had expressed racial animus at any time prior to the Feb. 26 shooting of Martin, a black teen, in a confrontation at a Sanford housing complex. As Sanford police investigated the circumstances of Martin’s death, the FBI opened a parallel probe to determine if Martin’s civil rights had been violated.
Several co-workers said they had never seen Zimmerman display any prejudice or racial bias.
Two co-workers told agents they spoke with Zimmerman the day after the shooting, and both said they noticed injuries to Zimmerman’s nose and the back of his head. One person said Zimmerman was “absolutely devastated.”
Zimmerman told both colleagues that he followed Martin – whom Zimmerman described as a “suspicious person” – so he could tell police where the teen went, but was then “jumped” by Martin. Zimmerman told both that Martin reached for Zimmerman’s gun before Zimmerman shot Martin.
So…Geraldo was right. NBC, MSNBC, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, President Obama etc etc etc were wrong.
Watch them not climb down from asserting that Zimmerman killed Trayvon Martin because he was black. Watch the New Black Panthers not climb down from offering a bounty on Zimmerman’s head. Watch the NPP never face charges for inciting murder. Watch them all find some other excuse to inject race where it doesn’t belong in some other case, and watch the media follow along as if none of this ever happened.
One person who cannot pretend that this evidence doesn’t exist is Angela Corey, the prosecutor. In her affidavit of charges against Zimmerman, she asserts without evidence that he “profiled” Martin. She did not limit that to Martin’s attire. That was a suggestion that Zimmerman was a racially motivated killer. The FBI says otherwise. Corey was Nifonging Zimmerman and she may answer for her actions with her law license.
Probably it was self defense but I would not want to make him out as some right wing hero. I would not want this guy acting out his cop fantasies in my neighborhood.
Zimmerman is not a hero, and Trayvon Martin is not some innocent victim. The media is not interested in the complexity of humanity, they are just interested in pushing narratives. We are told that Martin Luther King Jr was some kind of secular saint; his plagiarism and adultery are nearly universally ignored. Richard Nixon is a symbol of corruption and evil; any of his accomplishments as President or prior can be safely dismissed.
George Zimmerman is not a racist. This does not tell us if he is guilty of 3rd degree murder, manslaughter, or nothing; that’s what the trial is for. He has been exonerated of the most heinous crime, according to Leftists, however, and that is cause for rubbing their noses in it.
Not that you can ever convince a truly committed Comrade that an “enemy of the people” is not guilty of thoughtcrimes.
Definitely not a hero. I don’t think he’s especially bright. Good intentions, maybe, but lacking in judgement. I agree with you – I wouldn’t want him “patrolling” my neighborhood.
The reason he has so many supporters is that he’s become the “other victim” in the case – victim of a politically-correct, opportunistic lynch mob. If the case were clear-cut, if Zimmerman obviously fit the profile of a gun-happy racist, we might be saying he’s getting what he deserves from the public, the media, and the race-mongers. But the case isn’t clear-cut. What Zimmerman actually deserves if a fair trial. So far, there’s little evidence he will get one.
The man was a coward plain and simple. He went out of his way to confront Trayvon Martin and needed his gun for protection. I guess he was afraid of 150 lbs teenagers with hoodies. Not only was he a coward but also can’t fight a lick if he thought his life was in danger.
Cowardice is not a crime. If it was every democrat in the country would be under suspicion.
It’s funny how men are supposed to be macho he-men when it’s convenient to the Narrative.
You have an interesting definition of cowardice. Zimmerman was out on a nasty night, saw something suspicious and kept an eye on it as he called 9-11. Most cowards wouldn’t be neighborhood watchmen at all, let alone keep an eye out for trouble when they’re off duty.
And then there’s this — ‘Zimmerman blasted cops over beating of black man.’
But we should consider the source here, I guess: You won’t even put your real name on your comments on a blog while you call someone else a coward.
Florida will hold a trial to determine which narrative is closer to the truth:
1. Did Zimmerman track down Martin and execute him?
2. Did Martin jump Zimmerman and knock him to the ground?
That’s why we have the legal precedent of innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
Apparently, that’s not acceptable for the Boston Lib. This is curious, because all the lynchings in the South also eschewed due process. Further evidence that Lib/Dems are bigots?
Hell, I’ve seen lefties all day predicting that FBI was about to file hate-crime charges against Zimmermann.
And you know what? I wouldn’t be surprised.
