AG Eric Holder’s Department of Justice allowed thousands of “suspicious packages” to walk into drug war-torn Mexico, where they played a role in the murders of two American agents and hundreds of Mexicans, but none of those packages have prompted today’s disruption of a student protest outside the White House in Washington, by the US Secret Service. The protest, which took place this morning, was peaceful according to report the Tatler has received from the scene. These exclusive photos bear out both that the protest was small and that it was peaceful.
It was shortly after this third photo was taken, that the Secret Service moved in and disrupted the protest.
The Secret Service on Monday shutdown a student-protest calling for the firing of Attorney General Eric Holder saying they were acting on concerns over a ‘a suspicious package’ apparently left by a tourist on White House grounds.
Secret Service officials forced the approximately 50 student-activists, who organized the event over social media, to leave the area after the protest had attracted significant attention from members of the White House press corps. and major news outlets.
Maurice Lewis, a student at the University of California, Merced, who marched in the event told Campus Reform that the Secret Service had seemed on edge well before the “suspicious package” was discovered.
“Several agents seemed hostile to our march and seemed anxious for us to leave the area,” said Lewis. “The discovery of the ‘unidentified package’ came just as the protest began gain traction.”
The Tatler is keeping an eye on this story.
Update: Bike cop shuts down video as protesters are told to move.

Suspicious package? Sounds funny to me!
– all tourist visitors carrying in packages, but let the students continue their protest outside the grounds.
Let’s remember the pro-gay rights protest that was broken up for no reason a few years back–because of concern over optics.
Simply go back and protest again. Will the SS always claim a suspicious package? That would be suspicious.
The guy in the White House is playing Putin.
Sorry, I think it was a case where the protest went on but the media were pushed back to Lafayette Park with basically no reason given. About 2009 time frame.
Basically, I find it hard to believe that this was not a political move. But I guess when someone decided that hookers were de rigeur, you lose your ability to stand up to politicians. It’s what happens when you hire jocks and not men.
Oh, well.
Then I guess it’s just alright, then.
“Bush did it!”
It’s always nice to see what the left thinks are equivalent situations. It reinforces my opinion that they are either stupid or lying or both.
And I get to be right, again!
How special!
Um, 2009 would be primarily an Obama timeframe (minus 20 or so days). I also remember the first DC Tea Party in February 2009. We were shunted off by the same jack boots to the nether regions of Lafayette Park while the police allowed oranged jump suit and hooded protestors chained together raging on about Abu Ghirab were allowed to act up on Pennsylvania Ave in front of the White House. Never mind that this was a reinactment of a Bush era event and that Abu Ghirab had long since closed or was transferred to the Iraqis.
No question there is a double standard.
What??? No Colombian hookers nearby to divert their attention?
I sadly report that I believe this is a setup by our thug government.
I don’t trust a single thing they do.
We might have to get used to this kind of thing if Vladimir Obama gets a second term. Dissent is no longer patriotic.
Perhaps because of my upbringing, within the “Silent Generation” which preceded the Boomers, my kneejerk reaction in these matters has always been to trust the Secret Service.
It’s therefore a sad state of affairs when, seeing just the headline in the Tatler box on the front page, my reaction was to wonder “what really happened?”
Assuming the protesters’ statements are true, is this just a problem within the President’s detail, or is it Secret Service-wide?
Does anyone inside the Secret Service understand how this looks to the citizenry?
…and does anyone care?
Amen, Boomer.
It’s what happens when nice people occupy one side of the fence and lying, cheating scum are on the other. It takes way too long for the nice people to realize that the other side REALLY IS scummy, and by then, it’s always too late.
Our motto: live and let live. Theirs: nice guys finish last.
Lovely.
Feels like we are living in a police state…unpopular views will not be allowed. Holder is a fine law-abiding man and ObamaCare is not a tax. I’ll sign off now, not interested in adding too many pages to my file today.
Is the SS planting fake bombs now?
Rarely are protests outside the White House shut down, especially one so small as this. To sic the Secret Service on protesters is a sign the WH sees them as a threat — not a terrorist threat, but the fear the Fast and Furious scandal will get legs.
I wish I still lived in the DC area, I would be down there in a flash. So those of you who were there, don’t lose heart. Keep up the pressure. This will grow.
If you remember President Bush thought it was patriotic to protest. How times have changed under the skinny dictator.
