“Moral support.” For a hunger strike.
Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio) on Monday helped kick off a hunger strike of postal workers protesting what they say is an effort to privatize and dismantle the cash-strapped United States Postal Service.
The strike — which includes 10 postal workers, union activists and supporters, but not Kucinich himself — is the latest in a long saga of efforts to reform the postal service as it faces a dim financial future.
You peons keep starving for the cause. I’ll be over here sharing a four course meal with my ravishing wife.
What a tool.

Let me see if I understand this. They are holding a ‘hunger strike” so that they can go on bleeding the taxpayer dry performing a job at high expense and low efficiency that has been supplanted by the common residential cable modem?
How about we simply pass a law that makes old fashioned mail, the envelope, stamp, guy picks up at the box, another one drops off other mail to the box – illegal? How about we call it “Going Green” since email and electronic facilities are an order of magnitude more efficient than the millenia old version of mail, how bout that?
Making it all illegal is going a little overboard. Why not encourage competition? Break it wide open and let multiple companies deliver all sorts of mail, not just packages.
I know there are downsides and dangers to paper mail. There are downsides to an all email approach as well. Are we really willing to deliver absolutely everything to Google, Yahoo, Hotmail and the other email servers? All our documents. All our letters. How are you going to secure against hacking? How would you address the “original document” issue?
If they actually starve themselves to death, we can save money by eliminating their jobs.
Win, win. Well maybe not for them. I’m just not seeing a down side them offing themselves as long as we don’t replace them.
I propose a different strategy. How about delivering first class mail
for free and charging one dollar per piece for all the CRAP that comes
to the mailbox currently using “bulk mail” discounts. Then scrap the
law that requires that their retirement and medical coverage be funded
ROR THE NEXT SEVENTY-FIVE YEARS up front. For God’s sake, what business
in this day and age can even GUESS what the medical and retirement needs
are going to be for employees who haven’t even been born (much less hired)
yet. Another insane system brought to you by our insane lawmakers.
“How about we simply pass a law that makes old fashioned mail…illegal?”
How about we DON’T pass another #@%## law?
“The strike — which includes 10 postal workers, union activists and supporters, but not Kucinich himself…”
In Other News: Fellow Kucinich Partisan Tax Increase Advocates continue to under-submit 1040s; Al Gore’s carbon footprint still bigger than any other one-hundred citizens.
Is this really a hunger strike, or is this one of those “rolling” hunger strikes so beloved of Cindy Sheehan and anti-war protesters? Or even the kind of “hunger strike” in which the participants gain weight because they interpret ‘liquid’ as ‘milkshakes and frappes and Jamba Juice’?
If this is a real hunger strike, it’s a perfectly ludicrous cause.
Helooooo, Newman… (totally unfair, but can’t resist).
I just cannot believe the voters of Cleveland continue to send this propeller capped fool to Congress. Did they learn nothing from his term as mayor?
