No surprise that the Jewish religion made no appearance whatsoever among the faiths listed as possibilities on the new Gallup poll surveying the public’s beliefs about Barack Obama’s religion. After all the president hasn’t bothered to visit Israel since he took office, so what would be the point?
Of the folks polled, 34% said he was Christian, 11% Muslim and 44% didn’t know.
I’d put myself with a yet smaller group further down the poll list – the 8% who checked off a more definitive “none/no religion.”
As we know, the president claims to be Christian, but I don’t believe that any more than half the stuff in Dreams of My Father. I know a fellow agnostic when I see one, I’m embarrassed to say. (Call it “agno-dar.”)
The pretense that Obama is a Christian is just another lie among many. He almost never goes to church and, when he does, it’s mostly for political show. He’s following in the grand Clinton tradition there, but I imagine once in a while Bill wonders if there is a God. My suspicion about Obama is that he never does – except perhaps on election night.
(And, no, he’s not a Muslim either, although he suffers from a lot of anti-colonial bushwa – the kind of nonsensical thinking that gets busts of Churchill ejected from the White House.)

My suspicion is that Obama knows that there is a God- and that Obama is God’s representative on earth.

However, his father was a muslim, and he apparently was raised as a muslim (after all, didn’t he say that the sweetest sound was the muslim call to prayer?).
If this is the case, then by converting to Christianity Obama became an apostate. Why haven’t the muslim faithful said something about this?
I’ve got to say, I have no muslim inclinations whatsoever and I find the muezzin’s call pretty darn amazing.
I agree that Obama shows no signs of being devout to any religion. To be religiously devout, you have to believe in something greater than yourself. I don’t think Obama is capable of such belief.

Like any Leftist Christians, he is a CINO, Christian In Name Only. Their real religion is Collectivism. It is idolatry, the worship of Man, the idea of man-made Utopia on Earth.
Real Christians make God/Christ a part of their everyday lives. It is the foundation of their beliefs and values. You never really hear Obama talk about God or Christ, just as you never hear him speak of freedom or liberty. When you are passionate about something, it comes out in your speech.
If he has any faith, I suspect it’s Black Liberation Theology, the racialist, perverse version of Christianity originated by James Cone, whom Obama may well have me at the “Socialist Scholars” conferences he attended while at Columbia, and preached by Jeremian Wright. After all, he sat in Wright’s pews for 20 years; he must’ve liked what he heard.
(Of course, it’s also possible he attended Wright’s church for purely cynical reasons, but I suspect it was both that and a spiritual sympathy with Cone & Wright’s teachings.)

According to Aaron Klein, school documents in Indonesia say Obama was a Muslim. However, if Barry Soetoro was actually adopted by his step-father Lolo Soetoro then he would’ve become Muslim at that time. [I don't know if there are any documents which support or deny adoption.]

I favor starting a petition to the new president (hopefully to assume office in January, 2013) to restore the Churchill bust in the White House.
Obama’s paternal ancestors are informative: His father, Barack Obama, Sr., praised the USSR as a “liberating force.” His grandfather falsely claimed to have been imprisoned by British forces during the Kenyan’s colonial era. Obama needs to write a sequel to his memoirs: “Lies from my Fathers.”

When the whole “Obama is a secret muslim” flap began in the lead-up to the ’08 election I suggested that he would express a deep, unyielding faith in the Green Spaghetti Monster if he felt that would net him a vote-count advantage. The man is an opportunist and will put on any disguise in order to appeal to the widest audience; religious affiliations included. My guess is that the 44% plurality above selecting “don’t know” are probably wise to this.
