ObamaCare is as unpopular today as it was when the Democrats rammed it through Congress in 2010. Polls consistently find that a majority wants the law repealed in whole or in part.
Knowing that, the Obama campaign is loathe to tout its signature legislation or make it a prominent part of its campaign. In English, anyway. In its English advertising, Team Obama so far is sticking to “shiny thing of the week” distractions, attacking Romney for being a successful business man, and so forth. ObamaCare doesn’t rate a mention.
But in its Spanish advertising, the Obama campaign is speaking from a different script. An official Obama For America-Florida press release details the ads. Click to enlarge.
The email says:
The second set of ads highlight the President’s record on healthcare- a record that includes making affordable healthcare available to up to 9 million previously uninsured Hispanics by 2014, enabling 736,000 young Hispanics to stay on their parents’ health insurance plans, strengthening Medicare so that 1.2 million Hispanic beneficiaries can receive free preventive screenings and affordable prescription drugs, and making sure that millions of Hispanics will no longer be denied insurance or charged more for insurance because of their gender or pre-existing condition.
Not mentioned: ObamaCare’s abortifacient mandate has caused a serious riff with the Catholic Church. Some 32% of US Catholics are now Hispanic, and about 70% of US Hispanics are Catholic. Those stats plus the mandate present an opportunity for the GOP.
The ads will air in Florida, one of the major swing states in this election. But again, only in Spanish-speaking media. In English media, ObamaCare gets no play.
A Latino Decisions poll back in 2011 found that overall a majority of Hispanics support major aspects of ObamaCare, but that their support may be weakening as their economic conditions deteriorate and health care costs continue to rise after ObamaCare’s passage.

– as heard in the ERs of many California hospitals, as VDH often observes.
Que facil! M-I-E-R-D-A es decir: MIERDA!
“enabling 736,000 young Hispanics to stay on their parents’ health insurance plans”
I’ve noticed no mention is ever made of the impact on adults aged 18-26 who can’t mooch off their parents insurance for one reason or another (parents are deceased, using Medicaid or Medicare, employer dropped coverage when Obamacare raised premiums, going without while unemployed…).
And if an adult child aged 18-26 has a baby, is it required to be covered by his grandparents’ insurance?
The correct term is “mierda de burro”
Mejor todavia amigo!Saludos!
Will someone please tell me if the below is true? I found this just today. Maybe if it is true we can translate it into spanish…
Dhimmitude” is found in the new health care bill;
so what does it mean?
Dhimmitude — What does it mean?
Obama used it in the health care bill. Now isn’t this interesting?
It is used in the health care law.
Dhimmitude — I had never heard the word until now. Type it into Google and start reading. Pretty interesting. It’s on page 107 of the healthcare bill. I looked this up on Google and yep, it exists.. It is a REAL word.
Dhimmitude is the Muslim system of controlling non-Muslim populations conquered through jihad. Specifically, it is the TAXING of non-Muslims in exchange for tolerating their presence AND as a coercive means of converting conquered remnants to Islam.
ObamaCare allows the establishment of Dhimmitude and Sharia Muslim diktat in the United States . Muslims are specifically exempted from the government mandate to purchase insurance, and also from the penalty tax for being uninsured. Islam considers insurance to be “gambling”, “risk-taking”, and “usury” and is thus banned. Muslims are specifically granted exemption based on this.
How convenient. So I, as a Christian, will have crippling IRS liens placed against all of my assets, including real estate, cattle, and even accounts receivables, and will face hard prison time because I refuse to buy insurance or pay the penalty tax. Meanwhile, Louis Farrakhan will have no such penalty and will have 100% of his health needs paid for by the de facto government insurance.
Non-Muslims will be paying a tax to subsidize Muslims. This is Dhimmitude.
Keep remembering that Obama was elected by only 30% of registered voters. There was a 58% turnout and of the people who actually voted, 52% voted for Obama. Multiply 0.58 and 0.52 and you get 0.30. Just 30% of registered voters saddled us with Obama. Forget about the polls and VOTE!!!!
“A Latino Decisions poll back in 2011 found that overall a majority of Hispanics support major aspects of ObamaCare.”
Well why shouldn’t they like it? They stand to gain the most from it because many of them can’t afford their own insurance. It’s yet another entitlement we’ll have to pay for, just like Medicaid. And don’t worry about Hispanics not supporting ObamaCare because of rising insurance costs. The economic outlook for the country is not getting better anytime soon, so whoever is not making much money now is basically going to stay that way for a while. So if you’re poor and Hispanic, what’s not to love about ObamaCare? As long as somebody else keeps paying the bills for it.
