France’s new socialist president got a nice bolt of lightning to mark his first day in office.
Reuters reports that Francois Hollande, sworn into office Tuesday morning, hopped on his presidential jet to go visit German Chancellor Angela Merkel in Berlin.
Hollande’s plane was struck by lightning.
“But the Socialist was unharmed and took off again in another plane,” says Reuters.
