Here is a pop quiz for all you Tatler fans out there.
Read our Beloved Leader’s full statement on gay marriage that he issued yesterday and try to guess which phrase sends chills up my leg, as it should to you and every thinking American.
“I have to tell you that over the course of several years as I talked to friends and family and neighbors, when I think about members of my own staff who are in incredibly committed monogamous relationships, same-sex relationships, who are raising kids together; when I think about those soldiers or airmen or marines or sailors who are out there fighting on my behalf and yet feel constrained, even now that ‘don’t ask, don’t tell’ is gone, because they are not able to commit themselves in a marriage, at a certain point I’ve just concluded that for me personally it is important for me to go ahead and affirm that I think same sex couples should be able to get married.”
The answer to the quiz is…
….when I think about those soldiers or airmen or marines or sailors who are out there fighting on my behalf….
FIGHTING ON MY BEHALF???
Now think about this statement carefully. We have a president who thinks the military is out there fighting for him, personally, i.e., on his behalf.
Does that mean if President Obama gets voted out of office, there would be no more reason for our military to fight anymore and all the troops, airmen and sailors stationed around the world could all come home?
This passing statement of Obama’s ties in so well with our last photo caption contest, the American flag photo with Obama’s image in place of the field of 50 stars.
And also (in case you forgot) the 2008 Obama campaign’s own unique presidential seal.
So where is the outrage?
How does Obama get away with uttering what could be considered one of the most outrageous and self-centered narcissistic statements ever uttered by a President of the United States?
That is a question for which I have no answer.
But hopefully the American people will have the correct answer on November 6.
