When I say “jaw-dropping” I’m as serious as can be. The Post‘s fact-checkers fact check the RNC, which uses numbers to point out that despite Obama’s “war on women” schtick, Obama’s economy has amounted to a war on women who want to work. Here’s the RNC’s claim.
“For far too long women have been left behind in Obama’s job market. Of the 740,000 jobs lost since Obama took office, 683,000 of them were held by women. That is truly unsustainable.”
The claim is full of these things called numbers, which should be simple enough to check. The Post wastes several paragraphs checking them, before coming to this thrilling conclusion:
Shorter Post: What the RNC said is true, but they’re lying liars anyway. This may be the most literal case ever of not allowing the facts to get in the way of the story. I screen capped it to preserve it for posterity (and dissuade the Post from trying NBC’s airbrushing trick once this blows back on them).
Just how many Pinocchio’s does the Post deserve for rating something true on the facts, yet false because they say so?

Funky and the Farm Boy
Which one is the WaPo?
This, plus Rep Donna Howard’s “I didn’t say what I just said” answer, the Left continues to go deeper into its own fantasy world, with no contact with reality. They are truly false.
I can understand how in the past, dictators were able to reshape the narrative, spreading the Big Lies they needed to gain control. But these days we have the intertubes, and can see their lies and misdirections.
On one of his comedy videos, Richard Pryor talked about his wife catching him in bed with another women. He denied it, asking, “Who are you going to believe, me or your lying eyes?”
That’s the mindset of many liberals when caught blatantly lying.
“War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength.” George Orwell, 1984.
“The truth is false.” Washington Post, 2012.
After the “white hispanic” George Zimmerman it is perfectly legitimate to call President Obama a “white black”. So “true falsehood” is quite of a feather with modern juxtapositionary logic.
Terriffic!!
Since there is proof that there are more women than men and more one-parent homes I would say the figure given by the RNC might be more right than wrong. But one has to ask, since when does the Washington Post give a rats behind about the truth?
So, at last the MSM admits to using the Fake But Accurate defense.
From the RNC, Of the 740,000 jobs lost since Obama took office, 683,000 of them were held by women. Six hundred and eighty three thousand out of 740,000 equals 92.3%. That’s quite a “brief blip that could have little to do with Obama’s job market.” What would be a significant percentage that would reflect on Obama’s job market? One hundred and fifty percent?
No surprise. “Accurate but false” is just the flipside of “False but accurate.”
Also note the scare quotes around “Obama’s job market.” That’s because unemployment is up – due to factors beyond Obama’s control, of course. Probably something Bush did. You can bet that if unemployment had gone down instead, the market would definitely belong to Obama and nobody but Obama.
Five pinocchios. Five.
And an entry at FAIL BLOG.
“The Inversion Narrative” is the only truth, there is no other truth and WaPo is completely disinterested in presenting any other truth.
It is Obama’s economy when it is “up” or “reovering”, it is the one he “inherited” when it is “down” or “stalling”.
When you are part and parcel of the PALM Press, an official and high ranking member of the Propaganda and Lies Ministry, when you have several JournOlista’s in your information revolutionary army of liars and distorters…the truth exists only in your own inversion narrative bubble.
Not outside of it.
The Marie Antoinette Media, “Let them eat fake!”, is alive in East Anglia, is rampant with Reuters and AP stringers in Israel, is de rigueur at the Daily Duranty, is a prerequisite at CNN, NBC, MSNBC, ABC and CBS, is worth at least a dollar at Newsweek, and at Media Matters…its the raison d’etre.
Whether Dan Rather and Mary Mapes are pushing forged documents, CNN is firing all their Jewish journalists, ABC is hiding the gash on the head, NBC is editing out material evidence in inciting racial hatred, East Anglia is hiding the decline or Hollywood is making yet another propaganda film against America, leftists don’t give a Tinker’s Dam about the truth and they will do everything in their power to destroy it, if it doesn’t fit The Inversion Narrative.
In fact, it may just be time for another installment of how The Inversion Narrative works….in destroying our information stream and advancing the Propaganda and Lies Ministry.
It’s a fact, but it is false.
They should try this kind of defense if they ever have troubles with the law.
“Your honor, it is true that I killed that person, but it is false, it’s a blip, it’s not a trend.”
I do not believe what I see, I see what I believe.
Whoever said that.
I’ve awarded WaPo 4 Pinocchios.
Checking my universal translator, what the WaPo really said was:
“True, for whatever reason, but politically damaging to a Democrat, hence false”
If Barack Obama said the moon was made out of green cheese and the Republicans said it was not, what would the WaPo rule?
because nobody noticed it, will find out about it, and if they do, they’ll ignore it, and forget about it, that’s all
– loses how much each week? Will it be sold for a buck?
The real “giveaway” is in their own logic:
The figures “don’t mean much” and “may be a blip”…
And are therefore false? No, no, WP, that hardly means they are false.
Logically, at best, they could have said “True, but of uncertain relevance.”
They could even have stretched to “True, but of doubtful relevance” or even “True, but probably irrelevant.”
Any of those would have at least been analytic in nature.
“True but false” rejects analysis, and merely shows that they are not a news organization, but a propaganda wing of the establishment.
