Wolff Bachner of The Inquisitr just wrote a good piece on the growing persecution of Egypt’s Christians, which includes an interview with me. Titled, “The Plight of Egypt’s Coptic Christians,” it was published last night and can be read here.

Thanks very much for posting this article on the suffering of Copts. It’s truly a shame how ignorant Western Christians are to the plight of Christians in India, Pakistan, the whole of the Middle East and even Eastern Europe. Any articles which can show what we as Orthodox go through is a blessing.
– all over again.
Mr. Ibrahim,
While it must be painful to see your correligionists so badly persecuted, one thing I cannot accept as a solution is having millions of them come to America, because of the anti-Semitism they would bring. (I would like to limit Islamic immigration for the same reason).
If the vast majority of Egyptian Copts were to leave, how many should come to America? I would say 250,000 – 500,000 tops. Frankly, Europe needs a Christian immmigrant population that is actually having children, so they should be encouraged to go to Europe instead. I’m sure that Italy, Greece, France, Austria, Germany, etc. can absorb these people if the immigration is not all at once.
