Heather Mac Donald in interview with Lee Stranahan:
The goal of the law for centuries was to transcend individual particularities and to strive however imperfectly for a universal reason that would apply to all individuals regardless of race and gender and class and that was seen as a good thing… And the critique of the critical race theorist as well as feminist jurisprudence was not only is that ideal impossible but it’s not even really desirable because they see American society as so fundamentally unjust, as so completely biased in favor of white males, that the only proper response is a huge upsurge of emotion and identity and so storytelling is seen as somehow the legitimate reaction to the oppression of reason and the silencing of minority and female voices… There was a professor who was at Harvard for awhile and then ended up at university of Pennsylvania, Regina Austin. She actually argued that blacks in their attempts to destabilize white hegemony should embrace law breaking as a legitimate, radical thrust against white oppression and that sort of petty forms of lawbreaking like hustling, like employees stealing from their employers should be embraced by the white law-abiding middle class as a revolutionary gesture…
Take the time to listen to all 13 minutes.
Here’s how Austin describes the goals of her classes today where she trains legal students to produce propaganda on behalf of “social justice”:
Like Barack Obama and Van Jones, Austin too appears to have discovered the value of foregoing “the cheap satisfaction of the radical pose for the deep satisfaction of radical ends.”

Chilling. Just chilling.
I bet this idiot doesn’t live in a black or brown dominant neighborhood.
You have to laugh-out-loud when ‘Progressives’ live in the whitest enclaves:

Oh snap!
The reliance on storytelling is a pillar of the Obama campaign/Organizing for America.
Some of this stuff reads like an instruction manual
So to sum it up, Pinky Hatin’, lawlessness, and maybe a little reparations thrown in under the guise “social justice” to quell the threats for a short time.
It’s worked so well for them.
The amazing thing is they act as if their “storytelling” enlightens anyone. Bell’s laughable “space opera”, for example — its outcome was ordained by its teller. Of *COURSE* the racist author would have the whites betray their countrymen; it’s his preferred outcome, it’s what *HE* would do in that case.
The rest of us (I hope — I certainly do) read his plot and are disgusted with it. We *would NOT* take that option; it’s a violation of everything we’ve been brought up to believe, of our very self definition.
It’s not *OUR* failure that hateful clowns like Bell haven’t got the breadth of knowledge to understand that, anymore than Blacks or Catholics are to blame for a Klansman’s bigotry. The failure is with the people who, instead of ostracizing the haters and rebuking their lies, celebrate them and treat their profound ignorance as if it were profound wisdom.
Rob, don’t you know that ‘black’ people can’t be racists?
I’m sure this ugly idiot [video below] grew up believing in ‘Critical Race Theory’:
Exterminate white people (and people clap in the background!)
Only problem is, once these people can’t parasite off of and guilt trip whites, who else are they going to parasite off of? Every time white people leave…things never get ‘better’. Ahem.
I’m confused. I thought law school was to teach people how to help others with legal problems, decipher legal issues, etc. When did it become all advocacy. The video above and Ann Althouse here seem to indicate it is more about protesting than about providing a service. Add to that the repeated comments I see from law bloggers and bloggers who are lawyers about the fact that fresh faced law students can’t prepare a cogent argument, I’m thinking, perhaps, for the money they charge, law schools might want to drop the sociology and teach the law again.
Lawyers are a blight on society anyway, well to many lawyers are, do we really want to produce a bunch of political activist who think they are lawyers? Lawyer is the only profession where overproduction increases the cost on society. To many engineers and we get lots of new inventions, to many doctors and we get medical care closer to home. To many lawyers and we get bothersome lawsuits on every conceivable issue as they try to find some way to make lunch money. Win or lose they are a drain on the productive capacity of society. And I concede that on occasion, lawsuits bring about change for the better but mostly they are about lining the pockets of lawyers at the cost to consumers and shareholders.
Aside from all the other absurdities about this theory, is any of this supposed to help black people? I don’t think so. It harms them. Especially the young people in college who are supposed to be learning how to think and reason — and to be taught, given, tools to make their lives better in the future. And they are the ones who do influence the thinking of the less educated. Instead of encouraging them to do what’s necessary to better themselves — to really “overcome,” it tells them it’s futile. Tells them to just “take” and “steal.”
Oh, I guess a few, who grab on to the “leadership” of this mind-deadening malarchy, use the emotions they are able to rouse in order to “lift” themselves up (they’d already come from well-to-do environments) — like Bell, Obama and Michelle, etc. — and it fills their egos with an undeserved feeling of self-righeousness. But the rest — what will become of them with this hatred pumped into their spirits on a daily basis? Hatred for others instead of concentrating on their own betterment?
The worst thing that was ever perpetrated on American Blacks (after slavery and Jim Crow laws) was Welfare. It tore apart the Black family in our inner cities — and removed example, incentive, and inspiration from young people to develop themselves. Removed possibilities for genuine “pride.” The KKK couldn’t have devised a plot more harmful to Blacks — to demean and keep them down. This anti-reason, mind-warping “theory” is just as bad.
This is the worst claptrap I’ve ever heard — it’s set up to prevent healing and growth — literally prevents it —
Ultimately this hate-filled, vengeful, self-indulgent, self-defeating “theory” doesn’t harm White people anywhere near as much as it harms Black people. How far will forcing non-merited “accomplishment” last? One generation — and for some only? Which neighborhoods will be harmed most by this encouragement of “justified” lawlessness? What picture of the world are they painting as the one to be aspired to?
Just what kind of world do these people envision? What do they see as the “goal” or “result” of all this? Nothing but destruction and devastation. “If the system isn’t perfect — destroy it!” This is no “replacement” for the “system.” “Social Justice” is a meaningless, empty, pseudo-righteous political concept. It leads to the “Red-Guard” or “Pol Pot” regimes. It’s nothing but incitement of the vulnerable to fury, and the groundwork for revolution — mass violence — one in which nothing can be seen as accomplishment or betterment — nothing positive or growth oriented in it for anyone — especially Blacks.
It’s meant to wreck the functioning and orderly growth — and spirit — of our society. It’s meant to destroy “Hope.”
