The Republican primary summarized in one sentence:
The obsession with sticking it to the Establishment (which includes Christine O’Donnell, but excludes Bill Kristol) by voting for a loose cannon demagogue or a crusading Catholic who can’t seem to move the conversation past contraception is as pie-in-the-sky delusional as anything dished by Democrats carrying on about “green jobs.”

Interesting statements in the Coulter column. Let us assume, purely for the sake of argument, that they are not exaggerated puffery on Coulter’s part, done on behalf of the candidate she inexplicably favors, but are in fact accurate recountings of Romney’s record.
You know who does not manage to gurgle out this recitation of the Romney record? Who cannot manage to force these claims past his own teeth and into a microphone without strangling and stammering and choking on them to the point where they are either incoherent or sound like baldfaced lies?
Mitt Romney, that’s who.
I wonder why that is.
I hold no brief for Santorum or Gingrich, but you have nailed it, my friend.
In addition to the inability to coherently do what #1 Buzzsawmonkey noted above; there is his absolute inability to show any proof that any of his earlier stands listed here are not still operative for him and that his recent conversions are real:

Ignore the few seconds of the Paul logo at the end. Paul is a squirrel. But this piece is a pretty good side by side summary of Romney’s shifting stands, and no one has been able to refute the charges, or even seriously tried. We are just supposed to swallow the Romney kool-aid and believe the latest statement until it is “no longer operative”.
Subotai Bahadur
Hmm, it seems that Ann Coulter is upset that people don’t agree with her choice of Mitt Romney.
It’s Mitt Romney’s fault that he has not closed the deal for the nomination and can’t convince people why he is the best candidate. Simply because Ann Coulter accepted his reasons for why he is the best candidate – which I don’t know why because Mitt Romney never said why he was the best candidate – is her fault.
I’m beginning to think that if Romney does not get the nomination, a lot of Republicans will not end up supporting the GOP nominee, whoever he is.
Sadly you misunderstand, Mitt’s campaign is so brilliant, he’s such a leading light that we dim bulbs simply cannot understand a member of the Illuminati. It’s the same-old Obama story, he’s so brilliant that his actions appear stupid. What’s worse, Romney and his minions think that calling his potential voters stupid is a winning tactic. You’d think they’d have Jon Huntsman’s contact info but, perhaps, Huntsman’s faded so far into obscurity that you’d need a Ouija board to contact him.
I’m beginning to think that if Romney does not get the nomination, a lot of Republicans will not end up supporting the GOP nominee, whoever he is.
It may be wishful thinking on my part but when November comes, I doubt many Republicans will stay home on election day regardless of our nominee. The stakes are just too high. Personally, I’ll gladly crawl on my hands and knees over broken glass to vote for Anyone But Obama. Barrack Obama could be standing in front of me with a gun in one hand and a million dollars in the other and I’d still vote against him. He’d just tax the money away from me and I doubt he could hit anything with the gun other than maybe his own foot.
I’d greatly prefer the Republicans nominate someone I can vote for instead of just voting against Obama but getting him out of the White House is my primary interest. While I don’t particularly like or trust Romney, all I have to remind myself of is that the next 4 years will likely see 1-2 Supreme Court vacancies. I can almost guarantee that any Romney (if it comes to that) nominee will be much better than any additional Obama nominees.
OK, so we now know that David Swindle is Mittens Romney’s new she-boy. That’s fine. No one likes demagogues or crusading Catholics.
But what is it about the long chain of worthless Republican RINO bait that we’ve been given over the years, from Gerald Ford to Geo. HW Bush (2nd term) to Bob Dole to John Mccain to GWB (No Child Left Behind, Medicare drug benefit and TARP) that makes the RINO-gogues unable to get up off their knees, wipe their chins and grow a freakin’ pair?
I mean, really. How did Ronald Reagan make it past these spineless ambuloids?
He was voted in over the objections of such people as Counter, and then went on to soundly beat Carter in the general even though his poll negatives vs. Carter were way higher than any of the current candidates vs. Obama.
History will rhyme if we let it.
So we must reject Romney.
Ann Coulter is overrated. She is supposed to be smart, but she somehow gets swindled into supporting Romney? Very surprising.
Not that I care a whole lot about her. She jumped to shark years ago, as far as I am concerned. I want vinegar, I go down to the supermarket.
I’d likely vote for Myth if he is the only choice vs. BHO, however I will never again bother to pay any attention to this strange mixed-up MittBot Ann Coulter.
But the only people talking about abortion and contraception are the democrats and their media lackeys as a vehicle to smear Santorum. Essentially they are yelling “Squirrel!” to women, expecting them to be easily distracted, and run off chasing the varmint. Coulter is demonstrating that perhaps they are, which is a shame as she is usually a lot better than this. Cheers -
– she will just be marginalized.
Somebody please give the woman a cookie. Her blood sugar is in single digits, as proven by her support for Mitt Romneycare.
“a loose cannon demagogue or a crusading Catholic”?
Or vote for a used car salesman who will say anything to make a sale. Pick your poison I guess. I can always write in “Cthulhu” if I’m tired of choosing the lesser evil.
Note to self: disregard all future posts from Dave Swindle.
Sorry to say it, but she’s right.
She could not be more wrong.
Obama is the product of an attitude that doesn’t understand government’s job is to minimize it’s own relevance to the greatest degree that is prudent.
The GOP establishment demonstrates it does not understand what that means by backing Romney.
The fact is that there is no way that Rick Santorum can win a general election against Romney. The media will destroy him. My lefty friends are salivating at the prospect of running against Santorum. They will scour every word he has spoken for the past 20 years and amass a trove of snippets that will be used to terrify women voters. Even my wife, who is conservative and a Republican, is hesitant to vote for him. The “dellusion” of which Coulter speaks is the delusion that Santorum could ever possibly win. And Gingrich?…To a majority of Americans, Gingrich is unfortunately (and undeservedly)seen as the very face of the mean, nasty conservative. He too can’t possibly win.
The only candidate who stands a chance is Romney, and if the get’s nomination I hope you’ll support him – otherwise Obama can thank conservative infighting for his second term.
The fact is that the media is going to savage any Republican candidate. McCain was big buddies with the media (so long as he trashed Republicans) but when he got the nomination, they turned on him. To oppose a candidate because the media is going to trash him is to concede the election. Republicans could run the resurrection of Mother Theresa and the press would demonize her. That’s what they do and who they are. The media have their heads so far up Obama’s butt that if the man farted, he’d blow out all their eardrums.
Yes, and Gingrich and especially will make their job all the easier.
If Newt or Rick Santorum are the the Republican nominee the election will be all about them. If Romney is the nominee, the election will be about Obama.
Look, I don’t have have anything against Santorum or Gingrich, I just want to win. If we can hold the Congress and take the Senate, it really won’t matter if Romney is a little less than the ideal conservative, because the bills that will come before him will be sufficiently conservative. And he will sign them.
If Obama wins, it will be a disaster. The Supreme Court will be lost for a generation. And even if we take the Senate, any bill passed will be vetoed by Obama.
As I said, I just want to win this.
That first sentence should read: “Yes, Gingrich, and especially Santorum, will make their job all the easier”
Her “badass” line wouldn’t be abjectly stupid if in fact Romney had balanced MA’s budget without raising taxes, if he didn’t support gun control, if he didn’t believe in AGW, and if he had never created Romneycare.
Her defense of the Establishment is ludicrous, they are nearly as responsible as the Democrats for the last 100 years of over-spending.
If Romney is the nominee, the GOP will not deserve or get my support.
Operation Counterweight will.
Can you imagine Coulter’s reaction to a Democrat candidate who claimed to have balanced a budget with no tax increases by signing a bill that added two cents a gallon to the state “gasoline fee”. Or how about one who managed to be both pro life and pro choice within an answer to a single interview question?
I don’t have to imagine it. Her reaction was to endorse that Democrat for President.
