Afghanistan’s march backward through time continues:
The delegations, while deeply touched by the religious sentiments shown by the Afghan Muslim and Mujahid nation, inform our citizens of the following:
1. In view of the particular security situation in the country, we call on all our Muslim citizens of Afghanistan to exercise self-restraint and extra vigilance in dealing with the issue and avoid resorting to protests and demonstrations that may provide ground for the enemy to take advantage of the situation.
“Exercise self-restraint.” It’s a bit late for that. History also suggests it won’t happen.
2. After the shameful incident by the US soldiers stationed in Bagram, senior NATO and American officials expressed their deep apologies to the Muslim nation of Afghanistan and assured that such incidents will not happen again.
3. NATO officials promised to meet Afghan nation’s demand of bringing to justice, through an open trial, those responsible for the incident and it was agreed that the perpetrators of the crime be brought to justice as soon as possible.
Which crime, killing our troops in cold blood? Nope. The “crime” with promised prosecution is the burning of Korans that were apparently being used by terrorists to communicate with one another.
Are we going to see Americans soldier tried in Afghan courts for purely religious offenses? Will President Obama really allow that?
It gets even better…
4. The assigned delegations demand from the government of Afghanistan to take over from the Americans the authority of the Bagram prison so no such incidents can recur and calls on the US government to fully and comprehensively cooperate to this end.
5. The delegations also want from the Afghan government to formally praise those brave Afghan army soldiers and all others who showed feelings against the disrespectful act by preventing more religious books and Quran copies from burning, so that the pure Muslim sentiments of our honored Mujahid nation can remain alive.
Nothing about the Afghan soldier who killed two Americans. Not a word.
The Afghans think burning terrorist communications devices is shameful. We think their soldiers killing our soldiers is shameful. It’s hard to find much common ground between these two viewpoints. So our president grovels to savages.

“Nuke, nuke, nuke, nuke em all, nuke, nuke, nuke em all, nuke, nuke, nuke em all, nuke nuke” sung to the music of “Duke of Earl” mike
I second that emotion.
Shouldn’t we evacuate the civilized Muslims before nuking?
It wouldn’t take more than a half-dozen buses, would it? /sarc
Oh ya . . . and here’s the second verse – same as the first:
“Nuke, nuke, nuke – nuke ‘em all, nuke ‘em all, nuke ‘em all . . . . “
I hereby call on NATO to prosecute all Americans responsible for offending deeply-held religious beliefs in lands where NATO has operations.
NATO will probably find it best to ask for local help, though, when they arrest Barack Obama for his crimes on the contraception mandate. But they should not delay, not a minute. Justice must be had.
What insanity is this?
Life on the other side of the Looking Glass, I think.
So I shall have to believe six impossible things before breakfast, simply for practice?
To keep with the theme, I shall go mad in white linen, then, and retire to a wicker hut in the woods!
3. NATO officials promised to meet Afghan nation’s demand of bringing to justice, through an open trial, those responsible for the incident and it was agreed that the perpetrators of the crime be brought to justice as soon as possible.
First and foremost, anything coming out of a government body dominated by Islamic Law is not to be taken on its face. Reality testing of such bodies is not something to place a lot of reliance upon.
That said, if any confirmation of this comes from the US, via NATO or any other body included; the bonds of loyalty running both ways between our Oathkeepers and those who govern us will be severely damaged.
Subotai Bahadur
Prosecute them?
We have officially turned the corner towards Dhimmitude.
Perhaps the report is wrong or perhaps I have misunderstood the situation. Having said that — I’m going to have to get out my thesaurus to express the intensity and depth of my opposition to trying any NATO personnel for having burned those Korans.
I thought that this was initially an accident or error? Then I heard that these korans were being used for secret messaging. Why the groveling?
This is unbelievable. NATO, which is a creation of the United States and was intended as a bulwark against Soviet expansion into Western Europe, has become an enemy of the United States! Perhaps it’s not as much of a surprise as a president who’s an enemy of the United States, and we have one of those, as well. But still…!
(Would anyone like to see how a genuine American would have handled this?)
OMG! I really don’t have a clue what these people are thinking. So it’s ok to kill people for burning a BOOK! I guess until we take a stand and come down to that level and start to riot and kill people for disrespecting the Christian faith we will not be taken seriously and they will continue to think we are weak. I don’t know the answer to this but is the Koran truly a religious book or is it simply a book of rules by which one is to be subservient too or else?
What is going on here??????
What we should do ,is announce a special Koran burning, with time and location. Then drop a daisy cutter in the midst of whoever shows up. Announce that that was revenge for the Americans who were killed.
Let everyone in Afghanistan know that if it happens again, we will find out which tribe the killers are from, and will kill as many of that tribe that we can find. Then announce another Koran burning a week later. See who shows up! Make it a weekly thing till they get the message
Keaton baby . . . ever thought of running for President? Go man!
Hello? And how many of our flags they had burn again? Our soldiers when this happen so I didnt see anybody from our side saying we will persecute people for this why is the united states always apologysing is crazy, please think again what you are doing. It does not make any sense to me.
Why are our people being put in harm’s way to help animals who hate us and will instantly revert to the cave-dwellers they are the moment we’re gone? Just quarantine them and their hideous beliefs and let them kill each other. Islam is a primitive, barbaric political system dressed up as a religion, totally incompatible with freedom and the Western world. Let them rot.
