Wife: Slain Nuclear Scientist's Goal Was 'Annihilation of Israel'

So much for Iran’s redundant protestations that its nuclear program is just for peaceful energy purposes.

The wife of a nuclear scientist slain in Tehran in January proudly proclaims via Iran’s semi-official Fars News Agency today that her husband sought nothing more than to wipe out Israel.

Mostafa Ahmadi Roshan, 32, who supervised a department at the key Natanz uranium enrichment facility, was killed by a car bomb Jan. 11. Iran has blamed the Mossad and the CIA for the assassination, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad called the killing “Zionist style.”

“Mostafa’s ultimate goal was the annihilation of Israel,” Fatemeh Bolouri Kashani, the scientist’s wife, told FNA today.

“I want to categorically deny any United States involvement in any kind of act of violence inside Iran,” Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said after the attack. Her spokeswoman later told reporters that the U.S. condemned “any assassination or attack on an innocent person and we express our sympathies to the family.”
