I’m sure you’ve seen the news by now that Whitney Houston has passed on at the all-too-young age of 48, so I’ll just post this as a tribute to this marvelous singer.
That song always brings a tear to my eye, especially when sung that well.

This is so sad. I loved her in “The Bodyguard.” This is a very sad end for a talented lady.
Talented artists all-too-often deal with some awful personal demons in their lives. It can be argued it is those very personal struggles that force their creative side into overdrive to produce the talent that we appreciate. Still, personal self-destruction is part and parcel with that creativity. I have to wonder if there is a strong “nature” component driving the high level of dysfunction among accomplished artists aside from the overall environment of that community.
Wow! What an incredible job on a tough song. She had the decency to get the words right and the talent to do the music justice. For all her talent, fame and wealth, she had a short, difficult life. May she rest in peace.
It is ironic that she was found dead by…her bodyguard. A sad end for a very talented lady.
