I don’t have to re-write what I wrote about last night’s debate. Just take a look at Intrade. Before the beginning of last night’s debate, Gingrich was at 40% to win South Carolina. In the second hour of the debate, he started climbing rapidly and edged up to 70% during the debate. Today he’s still in the low 60s. It’s all because he hammered John King in the first five minutes of that debate over ABC’s Marianne Gingrich interview. Intrade only has him at about 15% to win the nomination, but South Carolina’s vote can and will change that.
If things stay on their current trajectory, Newt Gingrich will win South Carolina on Saturday.
