Why let a little thing like the Constitution stand in the way?
Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) said Tuesday that President Obama “absolutely” should use his executive power to continue the unemployment benefits and payroll tax cut extension and said she hoped to discuss the option with the White House later in the day.
“It is extraordinary, don’t get me wrong. But I’m feeling the pain of the constituents I left [at] home,” Jackson Lee said, speaking on the progressive Ed Schultz’s radio show. “I consider this a crisis. I consider leaving Americans without unemployment insurance for January and February a crime. I consider not extending the payroll tax cut … a crime.”
Then logically she should consider Harry Reid a criminal. He’s the one who wants the shorter two month extension; both Obama and the House Republicans favor the one year extension, while Obama has now switched sides for purely political reasons.

Obama, he can pay it out of his stash he got.
Sheila Jackson Lee is exceptionally Fiat-headed, calling for Obama to impose a tax re-Volt.
OK. The space cadet-like comments from Ms. Jackson-Lee are a big reason why I don’t take seriously the notion that the GOP bunged the politics of this. After all, if the GOP is supposedly stepping on its own clown shoes, wouldn’t you simply shut up and watch the clown show?
Oops, sorry. This is the era of listening to the sound of your own political voice. My bad.
Lee disgusts me every time she opens her piehole.
Even in the Red tide of the last election, she still got re-elected… in Texas. Would someone re-district her out of office, please?
Courts and DOJ won’t let that happen. Segregated district, ya know.
Marc,
Jackson Lee’s district is overwhelmingly minority. They are unfortunate, ignorant, gullible folks. Several of my friends worked in her district in 2010 as poll workers, election judges, etc. They were shocked to see voter after voter enter the polling place, and ask: “Can you tell me how to vote for D?” All the voters know is to vote Democrat, and nearly every single one of them (where my friends worked) were illiterate. Queen Sheila is an ogre, and she’ll be re-elected as long as she wants.
sorry sheila, but our feckless leader is trying to get re-elected to office. he can’t show his commie side so much until AFTER he manages to steal (or lose) the next election. you know the drill. lay low, kiss the babies, talk soft and play along. plenty of time to get nasty AFTER the election. have you lost your handbook?
I don’t believe a single word that comes out of that women’s mouth is devoid of a racial lens or Holder either. The shoe is certainly on the other foot and generally speaking, black politicians, instead of taking opportunity and running with it in the post-Civil Rights era, have instead given themselves enough rope to hang themselves with racial obsessions and naked advocacy. This era has set back black Americans by years.
