I saw the first couple of rounds of it… from my brief experience with WUWT, they’re a very smart group of people who practice real science a heck of a lot better than Dr. Johnny does.
It means thinking that every country in the world is deluded to be making policies about global warming, say including the island nations planning for eventual evacuation and abandonment, the UK conservatives who just set a 50% greenhouse gas cut.
It means thinking that science is inherently a delusion of the devil or a conspiracy. All of the scientists talking about evolution and global warming are CONSPIRATORS AND OUT TO DESTROY CAPITALISM AND GOD!!!!!!!1111!!
It means thinking the small children should be taught that the bible is literally true, God created the earth in 7 days – or that God guided evolution and we should ignore the myriad way in which our evolved bodies are incompatible with the bible, for instance penises with bulbs at the tip designed to scoop out the semen of our rivals isn’t compatible with saying that God designed humans to be monogamous.
Sorry to go into details. Reality is too dirty for this website. We must stick to nice, family-safe lies.
You might be surprised to realize that most people in the world have respect for science, unlike the nut wing of the Republicans. And you know what? Billions of people are not named Johnny.
Yes, OMG the conspiracy has more than one person! Hide under the bed and pray to Jesus to save you!

Don’t worry — there’ll be another in a week or two.

I sort of agree with you on that one – I would love to be able to enjoy the San Diego Wild Animal Park without signs and zookeeper preaching at me about extinction every time I turn a corner. And I don’t care how much energy and water you use as long as you’re willing to pay for it.
I’ll be totally willing to concede that point as soon as conservative politicians don’t have to play to the idiots, like Newt apologizing for having campaigned in favor of global warming bills last night.
Well it may seem unfair to generalize, but I can only name one blogger at pjmedia who never posts blatant propaganda and has no strange ideas; only one person I fully respect.
I have no idea how this place got so bad. Also is it my imagination or is PJ much quieter since the obvious fact that people like Michele Bachmann are unelectable sunk in.
“Well it may seem unfair to generalize, but I can only name one blogger at pjmedia who never posts blatant propaganda and has no strange ideas; only one person I fully respect.”
I’ll re-phrase my post of yesterday which you seem to have deleted, and say in slightly different and expanded phrases that if you “don’t do suble” and use exclamations like “fuck” here to show disgust with a commenter, that that is simply advertising a pre-adolescent attitude towards things you dismiss because of your disagreement, plus a bit of illiteracy. Try reading the classics, they’re instructive.
My insertion of a reference to Pearl Harbor intentionally comes on the 70th anniversary of that “Day of Infamy”, as Franklin Roosevelt termed it, on the 8th of December in our time zone. So, short version: we dropped two atomic (read nuclear) bombs on Japan. I needn’t mention why.
The recent tsunami and earthquake in northeast Japan which so dangerously disabled that atomic (read nuclear) power generating facility has it’s irony, and is useful as a metaphor to those who remember that day, as I do quite well. And, as metaphor, goes rather well with a picture indicating the light and the dark of a contemporary Tokio (old spelling) street partially dependent upon atomic (read nuclear) energy.
Since you “don’t do subtle”, I’ve felt it appropriate here to be expansive.
If you could find a clip that shows either Shibuja Eki or the expressway on New Year’s Day the contrast would be amazing. And, that could be pre or post Fukujima.
Beautiful.
There’s no “then” part though.
Josh, ….then was before Fukashima which took like 15% of japans electricity off the grid!!
I see it now.
(waves at Dr. Johnny “A physicist” Sidles, who I am sure is still reading the blog)
You should see what they did to him at Watts Up With That. Man, those people are perceptive and NOT tolerant of BS.
I saw the first couple of rounds of it… from my brief experience with WUWT, they’re a very smart group of people who practice real science a heck of a lot better than Dr. Johnny does.
Science? What does “science” mean at PJ?

Welcome back, Johnny.
Changed your posting style a bit, I see. Probably wise when you’re trying to sneak back after being banned.

Huh?

*sigh*
Don’t tease the weasel, CW. He might be a skunk.
I know, Charlie. Sometimes my worse nature gets the better of me. It’s a failing I’ve been struggling with all my life.
What’s with the meaningless nighttime urban videos, and the unconnected ersatz ‘music’? The sum of the two subtracts from the sum of human knowlege.
I’ve never been good at subtle.
Watch it carefully — some parts are brightly lit, and some much less so. The brightly lit parts are “before”, and the less bright parts are “after”.

C’mon! don’t be shy! that “one blogger” is…you!!!
Right??
No, I don’t blog here. I was talking about an actual author and journalist, and that’s the only hint you’re gonna get.
He probably means Dr. John “A physicist” Sidles, whom I mentioned before.
By the way, I haven’t seen ya around before… welcome to PJT. I like your style so far.
Or maybe it’s that commenters have less to say since they can no longer get away with saying that Obama is a foreigner and not really president.
Or, the tolerance for abusive gits like yourself is discouraging commenting.
I apologize, that comment (and the one that never appeared) were meant to be in response to a comment by ConservativeWanderer.
I clicked in the wrong place.
Don’t bother to reply to me, I’ve put you in the “lefty troll” category so you’re not worthy of real debate.
Yes “lefty troll” because science = socialism!
We should never forget Pearl Harbor.
Oh, for fuck’s sake.

Josh’s hysteria may be terminal; time will tell. He used up my patience elsewhere, which I now regret having expended on his immaturity.

Isn’t that last image Shibuya? It’s been quite a while since I was last in Tokyo.
