“The United States strongly believes that the new Egyptian government must be empowered with real authority immediately,” the statement said.
“We believe that Egypt’s transition to democracy must continue, with elections proceeding expeditiously, and all necessary measures taken to ensure security and prevent intimidation.”
Right. President Obama hails from an ACORN group called Project Vote, which he has rebadged to become a part of his 2012 campaign. That group existed in part to degrade election security.
Former Democratic Rep. Arthur Davis recently said that his party uses voter fraud to maintain control. The Democrats fight every attempt to increase election security by requiring photo ID.
As for wanting elections free of intimidation…Obama’s own DOJ dropped the case against this intimidating guy and his pals, after winning it.
So, the Obama administration claims to want things in Egypt’s elections that it clearly does not want in American elections.

It’s unlikely Obama really gives a crap about wanting it for Egypt, either, but it looks and sounds good and that’s really what he’s all about.
He just said that to say something. He’s obviously lost interest in the Presidency which turned out to be far too big for his intellect and experience and depraved racial world view.
I would disagree. I believe he actually sees the job as beneath his awesomeness.
But the travel is nice.
The accommodations simply elegant, the parties & the entertaining, sumptuous.
So, despite the presidency being less than I Won’s™ awesomeness, Barack and the Mrs. want another 4 to, you know, keep up the good work.
So, the Obama administration claims to want things in Egypt’s elections that it clearly does not want in American elections.
Say that again, shout it, as Barack’s minions at SEIU, ACORN (discredited, back under some new name) Soros orgs. et al. and etc. assess and attempt to install all the ways they can work behind the scenes to turn November 2012 their way.
Because without widespread and deep corruption and subversion of the process, it ain’t gonna happen.
Hopefully, there aren’t enough dead people, people with multiple registrations or voting illegals (not to mention dead pets and goldfish) to turn the thing their way.
The Obama administration has made America insecure about a lot of tried and true assumptions, free and fair elections (or at least reasonably free and fair elections) is just one item in a long list.
Free elections in Egypt = Muslim Brotherhood. Somehow, the US never learned to love pro-Western strong men. Like Iran after the Shah, Egypt after Mubarak will probably descend into being another anti-Western (and anti-Israel) hellhole.
