According to Fox News, PETA, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, are suing SeaWorld for enslavement.
SAN DIEGO – A federal court is being asked to grant constitutional rights to five killer whales who perform at marine parks — an unprecedented and perhaps quixotic legal action that is nonetheless likely to stoke an ongoing, intense debate at America’s law schools over expansion of animal rights.
Seriously?
Do these idiots realize at all what they do to their own credibility every time they pull one of these stunts? Honestly, no one outside of Hollyweird or a few liberal moonbats on college campuses actually pays attention to anything PETA has to say in the first place. Worse, when there are real abuses (Michael Vick anyone?) their radical stands completely discredit them when they could actually accomplish something.
Even more annoying is that most of their stands are simply stupid. Much like the radical environmental lobby with whom they are closely allied they haven’t really thought through the consequences of their positions. For instance, if we all went vegan tomorrow, what would happen to all the beef and milk cattle? With no commercial reason to keep them alive why would farmers pay to feed them?
As usual with the moonbats, it’s not about logic it’s all about how they feel. By suing SeaWorld they get to feel self-righteous, without actually having to accomplish anything, which is all they or their ilk at the OWS protests actually want.

WHO finances this bunch?
Probably you do, through tax dollars.
Don’t worry, the seal and salmon communities have filed a brief with the courts to keep those killer wales right where they are.
I think we should EAT the PETA people, as well as any and all vegans.
They are delicious with fava beans and a nice Chianti.
You notice PETA never defends scorpions or black adders, only cute, sympathetic animals. This is because they are unflinching hypocrites aside from being resolute morons.
Any bets at how many women who love PETA have killed every single insect they encounter within 10 feet of them?
Where’s the love for cobras, hairy tarantulas and giant fruit bats? I never see them on PETA posters with big sad eyes. They DO have eyes, too many in the case of a tarantula I guess.
What about caterpillars that poison you just by touching them? They have rights too. Tigers are kinda cute as long as you’re not alone with them without a giant fence.
Unfortunatly the Difference between Stupidity and Genius lies in the fact that there are Limits to Genius.
I hear the killer whales are hiring Moby Dick to represent them. Now San Diego has to build a special courtaquariumroom for the trial.
Somehow, PETA’s attorneys are trying to use the 13th Amendment, which bans slavery, and expand that amendment to cover not only humans, but animals.
Do they have any persons of color in their organization, you know, who had grandparents or great-grandparents who really were slaves?
Yeah, I didn’t think so.
