Texas Gulf Coast Congressman Ron Paul is a longtime resident of Surfside Beach, Texas. He owns one of the largest homes on the island. His main home is nearby 10 miles inland in Lake Jackson. But he’s a skeptic of Iranian defense capabilities.
Ellen Cannon, Chicago Homeland Security Examiner, TheExaminer.com “Sen. Mark Kirk versus Rep. Ron Paul on Iran Sanctions” Aug. 13:
Chris Wallace of Fox News asked [Texas] Congressman Paul during the televised debate from Iowa, why he was “soft” on economic sanctions against Iran. Ron Paul stated that the threat of Iran “was small”, the threat of a danger from Iran was exaggerated , and economic sanctions imposed on Iran “would make matters worse.” Rep. Paul stated, “Even our own CIA gives me this information that they have no evidence that they’re working on a weapon.”
New maps uncovered show Iran planning Naval presence off Texas coast
Now this from The Blaze, “Report: Iranian Warship Route to U.S. Coast Leaked Online” Oct. 6:
A new map that allegedly shows the expected path of the Iranian Naval expedition to the U.S has leaked online from an Iranian website, according to MEMRI.
The unprecedented route for the Islamic Republic would take Iranian ships through the Suez Canal and into the warm waters of the Caribbean, a total nautical distance of approximately 9000 miles. According to MEMRI, Iranian media sources claim:
“In this new and feasible mission, the ships of the navy of the Iranian Army will sail west, towards the Strait of Gibraltar, after they enter the Mediterranean. Subsequently, they will enter the Atlantic Ocean, and from there they must traverse the long distance to their destination off Cuba, in the Gulf of Mexico, and Central and South America.”
Iranian Naval chief Sayyari has previously threatened on Iranian state TV to send a fleet of warships into the Atlantic armed with “Nour” long-range anti-ship cruise missiles. The proposed Iranian flotilla would be an extension of Iran’s presence in the Mediterranean, the Persian Gulf, and the Indian Ocean.
Calls made to his media spokesman to get a statement from the congressman on the new maps were not returned to PJ Tatler.
Note: The author is this post, Eric Dondero, was Rep. Paul’s senior aide from 1997 to 2004.

our squishiness since the stalemate of korea in the ’50s, although somewhat alleviated while reagan was in office, has allowed the chickens to come home and roost
The United States has hundreds of aircraft, invaded to neighboring countries, and billions of dollars of ships, sailors, marines, and subs all around Iran, 24/7/365 for the last 40 years. Someone ‘leaks’ some papers onto the internet, that may or may not be authentic, about plans for iranian ships to come within a few hundred miles of the united states, and the neoconservatives call for the beginning of WWIII. Eric is a master of satire.
my worries stem from the fact that our magnificent military has been operating with skeleton crews for decades; my worries stem from our self-defeating adherence to idiotic rules of engagement; my worries stem from the cancerous economic policies that, if the mierda were to truly hit the fan tomorrow, would severely hamstring our ability to dish out significant annihilation; sure, a little mamby-pamby iranian navy doesn’t ruffle my feathers but add to it the red chinese and the russians and all the other 2-bit miscreants around the globe jockeying for nukes and what then?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vyeAkL0bXpI&feature=player_embedded#!
Iran is still not a sizeable threat, if they were we would not be building up the war machine against them because of our other engagements spreading us thin. And when referring to Iran being a threat to the US the question was in regards to nuclear weapons. They can move their navy around but to call it a serious threat to the US is fear mongering.
If they are considered a threat then so is every other nation with a standing military that could potentially attack us.
Not to mention “A new map that allegedly shows the expected path” is not solid evidence of a threat. And is it any wonder they are mobilizing right now? Israel has been strengthening their presence in the waters lately as well. If Iran were to leave the waters then their waters would be completely undefended and blockades would strangle their organized military to death. And unless their fleet can outdo ours then I feel pretty safe.
Iran has a known nuclear weapons program.
One missle, one warhead launched from the gulf, detonated over our primary energy producing states, and what happens after will not matter. The United States will be defeated.
Can you afford the risk of an EMP device devastating the technology base of our country? 100 million deaths in the next year from starvation, riots, total society breakdown? Iran has always been the real enemy. We ought to start treating them as such.
That’s a totally stupid argument. the US won’t be defeated if they have one nuke. We have hundreds of thousands!!! They know this. Don’t be fooled, Iran is a joke.
No, the US cannot be defeated by one nuke. That is silly.
One nuke can kill thousands of people and leave a desolate area and a massive cleanup bill. Or if they know what they are doing one nuke can be used to generate EMP to fry the power grid. This would not defeat us, and but I don’t think you want that to happen anyway.
Iran is no joke. Their leaders call us satan and want to attack us. They have the intent. They are enriching uranium for nuclear weapons. They are building capability.
“Iran is no joke. Their leaders call us satan and want to attack us. They have the intent. They are enriching uranium for nuclear weapons. They are building capability.”
As opposed to us, who call them evil terrorists and want to attack them, and actually have the capability to do so?
Iran isn’t crazy. They know that using nukes spells certain death for their ruling class and a large part of their country. The real fear is that developing a nuclear program will put Iran on more equal footing with Israel and the US, and put them in a position of power. That’s what we’re afraid of: the balance of power.
A small tactical nuclear weapon detonated in the atmosphere would create an EMP (all atomic weapons do so) large enough to damage a small section of a power grid as well as unshielded electronic devices in a small area at best. The Iranians don’t posses enough fissile material to produce a strategic weapon such as a MIRV equipped ballistic missile. You are fear mongering and speaking about a subject you are woefully ignorant about and are only regurgitating what you have heard from the likes of santorum and his war mongering ilk. I have an idea for you and the rest of the war hawks who have never fired a weapon at another human being, put on the uniform, fly over to some forsaken sand box and you can paint targets for our bombers and put your life on the line for another dictator that might currently be controlled by us interests. You should sell tickets to the lala land you live in for I and many others have tired of killing people in third world countries for “freedom” because I did not see a whole lot of freedom being handed out at the end of an M4.ronpaul2012
Yeah, because even though Iran is aware that if they in any way so much as attempted to harm the United States, they would be instantaneously wiped off the face of the earth, we should be really scared of them.
They’re not retarded. They know that if they mess with us, their country will literally be nonexistent in a matter of minutes. Why the hell should we be worried? Don’t fall prey to the usual government war propaganda.
You must be 8 years old with that kind of theory-
First- their navy wouldn’t make it through the suez canal- because our Navy that blockades Iran- IRaq along with the presence in the mediteranian would sink them the second the rallied their ships-
Our Navy would under a Paul administration have that tiny armada surrounded be fore they even made it out of the mediteranian ( that’s why we have satellites )
Your histeria over the potential for that country to threaten us is asinine and about as practical as optimus prime attacking the empire state building this new years eve—
Iran can’t touch us— without being as sneaky as the 9/11 gang
You can’t be serious that you actually think that: a) Iran has plans to move a warship within sinking range of the US coast and b) Iran created a MAP that looks like a 7th grade exhibit that shows they plan on moving a warship within sinking distance range of the US coast? I mean, this is all tongue-in-cheek, right? You simply can’t be that gullible.
Oh. I didn’t even realize who the author was until after I responded.
Nevermind, absolutely no reason to pay the first bit of attention to this guy.
This was actually announced around Sept. 27th. Something to remember is that our navy has been all up in their business for years, and this is only a push back response. They’re not going to fire on America. They’re not going to fire on any of our ships. This is a “How do YOU like it” type thing, if they actually follow through on it. We spend 77 times what they spend on national defense. Anybody who thinks Iran is a threat is a chicken little nut.
Put some attack subs on patrol against them. They do anything aggressive, we sink them.
Iran has every right to travel through international waters even if it is right up to the hairy edge of our border. We would have no right to stand in their way. Our Naval commanders have aleady addressed this and have said the exact same thing. They did mention however that we also have every right to traverse through international waters and wouldn’t be suprised if Iran had some company while out to sea.
This article is on a matter that is very dated. It is a smear attempt, plain and simple, just a very bad one.
It is so discouraging to me to see that, with all the billions we have for REAL defense (not world-policing and other nation-building) America is no longer the land of the free (the Patriot Act took that away) nor are we the home of the brave, but rather a bunch of scared little sheep.
You have a better chance of being hit by lightning than of being killed by a real (not false flag) terrorist. I’m ashamed of so many Americans who are gullible propaganda-brainwashed Chicken Littles.
Does Israel demand the US start and fight more wars for them?
I can’t believe it actually took 9 comments before some moron tossed this out there.
Yeah, this guy is completely retarded if he thinks we’re in Israel’s pocket. Just because we give them $3 billion in foreign aid does not mean shit. I mean, we give Israel’s enemies seven times that amount to subsidize their defense, including Syria, Egypt, and Libya, countries that are more unstable now than they have been at any point in the last 40 years.
What next? This idiot’s gonna talk about how that kind of aid to Israel’s enemies actually puts Israel at greater risk? What’s he high on? Logic?
Pajamas Media? Get real.
LOL yeah like they’re going to sail ships to the USA to get sunk. I can’t believe anyone can take this serious. If anything, it just makes me realize that Paul and Kucinich are dead right.
Poor. Really poor. The opening paragraph doesn’t make sense.
Iran doesn’t have an Air Force like ours They can’t shoot missles around the world like we can.
Really upsetting that this poor guy doesn’t proof read.
Ron Paul 2012
Apparently you didn’t read. They don’t have ICBM (they do have IRBM), but they can send a ship with missiles on it to our coast. We can do the same to them of course, but we don’t call them satan and pledge to destroy them in public – they do.
…but we don’t call them satan and pledge to destroy them in public – they do.
Uh…yeah we do.
LOL! Man, that was hilarious!
Iran is a regional, not worldwide threat. They have zero “capital” ships and would find it a logistical challenge to even travel across the Atlantic.
This is absolutely ABSURD!
Get over it. Paul is right and that’s that.
So this would be a good reason to have a strong defense as Ron Paul suggests. We should defend our country. But it is crazy to think we could afford yet another war. Look what happened to the soviets. We will spend ourselves into collapse and then we will be vulnerable to anyone. We need to have a solid defense and stop building the empire.
ron paul, you know that when its gametime, ITS PAINTIME BABY WOOOOOOOOOOO
To consider the Iranian Navy (or their entire military) as any sort of threat to the US is absolutely preposterous.
PJ Tatler:
What a trumped up non-story.
Just to attack Ron Paul and his dead on, Founding Fathers approved, Jeffersonian approach to international relations. To wit:
“America is the friend of Liberty everywhere, but the guarantor of OURS ALONE.”, courtesy Thomas Jefferson.
or General George Washington, if you prefer:
“Friendly relations with all nations; engtangling alliances with none.”
It has been serveral generations since these Principles were honored, and as America has ignored them, we have gone from becoming the defender of Truth and Liberty, the the one that is attacking it everywhere, and treating every nation as a threat.
This is the road to Tyranny. We’re already far down that path.
We, the USA, acts like it’s God to the entire world.
And the Christians on the Right – the ones that are Sheep (but not to the Great Shepherd, just to other deluded men) who are Biblically & Historically ignorant, along with plenty of ‘might makes right’ pagans, relish the role of Tyrant.
Of course, some elements of radical Islam play into the picture, not that they’re a genuine threat, but they can be, with a little help from our covert agencies, be trumped up into a big enough bogeyman to justify the errection of the total security state.
Big brother, 1984 here, courtesy of our own sense of fear of Islam, rejection.
What we need more of is a genuine ‘Fear of the LORD’ – knowing that we’re supposed to be “one nation, UNDER God”, not ‘One Nation, acting like it’s GOD.’
Do we all understand the difference ?
Pride comes before a fall, not humility !
Ron Paul is a humble Christian Statesman, which is why the lying media & banksters live to obscure his message.
I love the fact that they ‘twin sins’ of the Democrats, the Welfare State, and the Republicans, the Warfare State, are equally cut to the core by Dr. Paul’s consistent philosophy of Christian Liberty.
Here’s a great intro to this message:

5 Lies the Religious Right (not genuine Christians) tells about Ron Paul:

Hope this helps bring balance to the fear mongering tone of this story.
Godspeed, Patriots….

Be sure to click on them. Most of them are throw aways.
LOL!… LOLOLOLOLOL!… OOOOOOOHHHHHH, my side hurts!… WHOOOOO! *sigh… Phew! That was hilarious! Ahhhh…
Ever notice how most opinion pieces about Ron Paul coming from Google News list the author next to the title? That’s why Liberty turncoat Eric Dondero has to hide his authorship in order to drive traffic to PJM. Everyone knows your game Dondero, your past smear attempts and lies about Ron Paul have not been forgotten.
Damn Fear mongers! Leave the damn middle east alone!!!
Ron Paul 2012!
Addressed to the author, our naval ships will without a doubt be present in the nearby waters patrolling the area.
I am not worried in the least. I am more concerned with China, and what their reaction will be to a destabilizing of the dollar.
Man there are some scaredy cats out there. OMG John they have a fork! LMAO!! If it is not China or USSR than it is a joke. Give me a break, Iran. Ha. The people scared of Iran are the same people scared to go outside for fear of skin cancer. Just plain stupid! Get a grip, and learn some shitz!
Google the USS Liberty and discover who the real enemy is.
Thank you for INCREASING Ron Paul’s credibility with another lame hit piece.
2012: Paul or nothing!
BP: I have contacted Congressman Paul’s D.C. office by concerning this posting. They offered thanks for the heads-up but otherwise (respectfully) declined comment (for now.)
Cheers
The Following is What is Different and Better About Ron Paul Over All Others:
He has never taken a government junket.
He does not participate in the lucrative Congressional Pension Program.
He returns a portion of his annual Congressional Office Budget every
year.
He has never voted to raise taxes.
He has never voted for an unbalanced budget.
He voted no to the bankster bailout.
He voted no to raising the debt ceiling and warned us against
the “Super Congress” part of the legislation that resembles both
an “ Enabling Act” and a “Politburo.”
He has never voted to restrict gun ownership.
He has never voted to raise Congressional Pay.
He never voted to increase Executive Branch Power.
He will Reinstate The Constitution and Save The Republic
He will END the unconstitutional FED.
He will phase out the unconstitutional IRS beginning immediately
He will secure the borders
He will limit Big Government in your private affairs
He will stop Illegal immigration and no amnesty
He voted against regulating the Internet
He is the only candidate for President in 2012 who actually served his country.
He was a flight surgeon during Vietnam.
Ron Paul’s popularity is so high among U.S. service members that the Texas
Congressman’s presidential campaign has received more money from U.S.
soldiers than any other candidate in the 2012 presidential race.
http://www.thestatecolumn.com/…
He voted against the Iraq War and warned us against going forward with
an undeclared war.“Let it not be said that no one cared, that
no one objected once it´s realized that our liberty and wealth are in
Jeopardy” July 10th, 2003
He voted against the unconstitutional and un-patriotic misnomered so called “Patriot Act”.
He supports a non-interventionist foreign policy yet a strong defense
He will end the inflation tax He is a true Constitutional
Conservative
He would have soundly beat Obama in 2008 because Independents trust him and like him.
We could have had a V8 instead of McCain´t in 08
Ron Paul for President 2012
Because no one else can be trusted to say what he means and do what he says like Ron Paul does.
Ron Paul is the man of the hour. They used to laugh him for being way ahead
of the others in his thinking and his warnings. Now, they are not
laughing because what he predicted is coming to pass. Now, he is being called
a prophet for having warned us and still calmly suffered through the
barbs. “First they, ignore you, then they fight you, then you
win.” Gandhi
“I would remind you that extremism in the defense of liberty is no
vice! And let me remind you also that moderation in the pursuit of
justice is no virtue!” Barry Goldwater”
When fascism goes to sleep it looks under the bed for Ron Paul.
Eric Dondero now has to step outside HIS pathet.
ic and write for the gullable at Pajamamedia.
Eric Dondero was fired by Rep Paul for cause,,,ie. His liking of prostitutes is well know.
ANYTHING that Mr. DONDERO states, put it down as delusion and fancy on his part
LOL I can’t believe anyone is taking this article seriously, its obviously a joke. The only thing it needs is a picture of the Iranian navy – two guys sitting in a rusty bathtub.
And the US military said they have no concern, the statement does not in any way reflect the capabilities of the actual Iranian navy. AND said they have always pushed for freedom of the seas, and told them they can go where ever they want. So i ask you, Is the US military DEAD wrong about it too? I think not. Ever witnessed the US navy? yea, not to be trifled with.
This is not a problem.
Iran has a very young population and is more pro western than most people realize they have the Internet and Twitter and Face Book and such the religious nuts are slowly going away. It’s better for us to wait and let time heal and not to be Trespassing in their affairs and mind our own business and not create a conflict they will implode in time, on their own unless we fuel the fire.
Wow, yeah, if the Iranians do that they will definitely catch us with our pants down. We’ve been so busy overextending ourselves abroad, there’s no longer a military presence to protect our own borders or money enough to mount a defense of ourselves. Of course, Ron Paul wants to change all that. But, I think we’d still be better off borrowing money from China to preemptively strike every country that hates us–and there are a lot. The list gets longer every day, especially now that we can’t afford to pay them off anymore.
You cannot prevent weapon’s technologies from trickling down across the globe, no matter how hard you try. The Turks were the first to effectively use gunpowder, a closely guarded secret. Now the whole world has guns. The same is true for military aircraft, bombs, machine guns, tanks, etc. Eventually, Iraq will get a nuclear weapon. So the question you need to ask yourself is, should we continue to antagonize countries by meddling in their internal affairs? Every time we do so, however noble the cause, we create strife. Every bomb we drop, every economic sanction we apply, every dictator we support or tear down, creates enemies that wish to do us harm. We create more enemies and less security the harder we try to police the world. And if that is not a good enough reason to stop, then the fact remains that if we continue policing the world, we will bankrupt our country. So we will either stop of our own accord, or we will be forced to stop. But one of those outcomes breeds way less hatred toward us, and will result in less enemies.
What we need to do is disband our overseas military presence, pour all our resources internally to infrastructure and a strong national defense, and then let the world know we will talk and trade openly with any nation, but if they attack our soil, we will declare war constitutionally, and hit them with all we got. I promise you, if we stay out of the world’s business, but maintain a strong national defense at home, folks will be much less motivated to start crap with us than they do now.
How, exactly, did the U.S. upset the Middle East enough to get the jihadists attacking our merchant ships and selling our sailors into slavery? That’s what started the Barbary Wars at the beginning of the 19th century. Or did they know that we were going to back Israel in another 150 years?
jihadists in the barbary coast? read some history.the barbary looters were pirates.and it wasnt as if the whitey americans were upto any good there.it was a tussle for slaves.would the muslim thugs get them or the white fuddyduddies across the atlantic.it was a shameful fight.islam had nothing to do with just as jefferson wasnt representing christianity.
the jihadism has started only after the creation of israel and the atrocities against palestine and then it has morphed it the evil it is today
They didn’t. But they were motivated more by greed than some Islamic drive. Sure, when giving reasons, they may have used Islamic language to justify their actions, but the reality was it was economically motivated. Religion is spark used to the ignite the fuel provided by economics. They were pirates in the truest sense of the word. And we dealt with them the same way we would deal with Somali pirates when our trade ships are attacked. That is justifiable self defense. If you are trying to draw parallels between the strictly defensive foreign policy of our early nation and that of our “Pro-active / Pre-Emptive” policy now, you will fail.
I hope this is a joke
lol.so the iranians will load their ships with IRBM and travel 9000 miles to the atlantic coast and cause nary a suspicion even as it passes thru the crowded suez canal and the mediterranean.yep everyone NATO radar is probably dead and cant detect it.and the US nukes are probably rusting
IN YOUR DREAMS.
also, give me ONE example of a war iranians have started in the last 400 years.
they might be loudmouthed, but they arent suicidal. saddam hussain should have simply told that bush’s aim was to kill him and he had no weapons instead of posturing like a proud peacock.perhaps 2 millions iraqis would not have been killed
Great evidence for why we should be defending our waters at home. Why would Iran make this desperate attempt at attacking our shores again? Could it be that we have missles and drones in the air capable of hitting anyone in their country? Look at a map of our bases that literally surround them.
Yep, sounds like we need to invade and occupy Iran and give them our wonderful democracy. Good thing we have enough money to afford to do all of this awesomeness. Let’s invade all of the countries with nukes! Hey, it will help the economy…
Been dealing with a few crazies over here too. Trying to have a decent debate and all I get is name calling: http://pajamasmedia.com/tatler/2011/10/05/a-few-thoughts-on-the-primaries/#comment-124756
I’m confused, I figured this whole post was a joke making fun of the people who accuse Ron Paul of being soft on defense. But is the author actually serious…? But if it is a joke post, it’s absolutely hilarious.
Well isn’t this just the most credible article I’ve ever read?!
War propaganda at its finest. This guy author is a joke
What a joke article. I needed to get no further than reading that this fake map of proposed Iranian naval bases was provided by MEMI. MEMRI is an Israeli mouthpiece for middle east propaganda. Rita Catz is a joke. Remember this is the same person that purposefully misquoted Ahmadinejad about “wiping Israel off the map.” Which he didn’t say. And just remember this any stupid American that believes this crap. It’s all in Israel’s benefit and only American troops will die in any war started and no Israeli’s (like usual).
Hahaha new map?? You have to be kidding, I can whip up something that looks more official than that in paint. What a joke. Iran is not a military threat. If they ever managed to launch a nuke they’d be wiped off the planet. Its all pathetic fear mongering. Not a single rational person, when given the facts, has a fear of Iran.
With our troops out of the mid east and back on American soil, we could use the money that we have saved on the defense of our nation. We could fortify our nation’s borders, improve our missile defense systems, and improve on our ability to prevent an attack through better satelite surveilance on countries like Iran.
We have to be realistic about who we are dealing with. Iran is still a primitive country in terms of technology. Even if they could build a nuclear weapon, it would be crude by all standards. The Iranian’s would have no way to deliver the weapon 9,000 miles to the U.S. If they did attempt to use it on one of their neighbors, they would be detected immediately and would be incinerated either by the intended recipient, or by one of the many other countries nearby that also have nukes. Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD) has been a good deterent for more than 60 years. I can’t imagine a country that is not known for suicide attacks being dumb enough to end their own existence in this manner. We can’t tell other nations that we may not like what they can or can’t have, especially when they have never done anything to us except talk a little trash. Then again, maybe they wouldn’t talk trash about us if we were not getting involved in their affairs. Why isn’t Iran saying nasty things about Switzerland, Canada or Costa Rica (all free countries)…..maybe because these three countries could care less about Iran and what Iran is doing. All we really need to do is keep an eye on Iran like we would a weird guy with no friends who moves in next door to you. If Iran gets out of line and becomes a legitimate threat to our nation or one of our allies, we can erradicate them at that time. But what we can’t do is be paranoid and live in fear daily that the boogeyman will get us. I say don’t give them a reason to hate us and always be prepared to deal with them when it becomes necessary.
Ron Paul in 2012!!
Okay, this is silly. First off, to deploy a naval ship any distance from its port of origin you need UNREP (underway replenishment). There are very few navies on Earth who have the assets to refuel and replenish their vessels while underway. Iran is not one of these nations. The USA, the UK, Canada, France, maybe Russia. That’s about it as far as blue water navies go, and that’s really stretching it. When you get down to brass tacks, only America can deploy its naval forces whenever, wherever.
Now, even if Iran had developed such a capability, why would we fear it? The Soviets parked nuclear missile subs off our coast for like 40 years and we went about our business. We’re no cowards here in America, and anyone who dares strike us invites their own demise. Every other nation on Earth already knows this. Why is it we’re supposed to be afraid of some third world nation that can’t even possibly achieve the operation they propose?
Every generation needs a boogeyman I suppose.
This is a joke right? Iranian Navy off the coast of Texas?
The author chooses to ignore historical precedent, our own CIA, and common sense.
US Military Spending: $698,105,000,000.00
Iran Military Spending: $9,174,000,000.00
We spend all this money on our military and we still have to be scared of the monsters under our bed? This fear driven war propaganda based on speculation is getting really old.
Your own report says “allegedly”. What interest do you have in starting a war with Iran? I am suspicious of pajamas media. What is the ultimate source of your funding?
lol I can draw a map to fort knox, does not mean I chance of doing anything. Seriously- the USSR said they were gonna bury us… We are worried about a dictator we have propped up?
What is wrong is that US can kill innocent people around the world, because we do not know how to talk to other countries. If the shoe was on the other foot what would WE DO? Has IRAN used any weapon against US? Ron Paul is LOGICAL!
The Iranian Navy has FOUR….count em….FOUR destroyers. Also known as “tin-cans.” Poland could sink their Navy.
Ben Franklin said, “those who would give up an essential liberty for simple security deserve neither.” Quit living in fear.
So what do you want us to do? Go in and start slaughtering everybody? Obliterate Iran’s regime and thousands of civilians? Yes, civilians will die. But, I guess that is what the U.S. military industrial complex does best.
Iran is NOT a threat. They don’t even really have an air force to speak of. IF Iran every decided to be stupid a shoot a nuke at the U.S. we would blow it up before it even gets to its destination.
Abedinejad says he wants to wipe Israel out, but saying and doing are two different things. When he actually acts on something, then we go in
Pajamasmedia is dead wrong about Ron Paul. He has not owned a beach house on Surfside Beach for years…check your facts.
“On no other foreign policy issue since the Cold War’s end has the truth been so easy to establish on the basis of hard facts but so hard for Americans to see … that Muslim hatred is motivated by U.S. interventionism more than any other factor… Our growing number of Islamist enemies are motivated to attack us because of what the U.S. government does in the Muslim world and not because of how Americans live and think here at home.” michael scheuer, cia head of bin laden unit.
ALSO THE MILITARY SUPPORTS RON PAUL IN DONATIONS OVER THE OTHER CANDIDATES COMBINED!!!!!!
so if the cia and military supports ron paul’s positions, who is your source that trumps ron paul’s sources. really curious to hear this one.
Eric Dondero (Ritberg) or whatever your name is today is a dissatisfied ex-employee fired because of his poor professional job skills. Also, let it be known that Congressman Paul sold his rather modest home at Surfside years ago.
Great job of journalism.
This is patently false. I was not “fired,” by Congressman Ron Paul. I resigned over his opposition to the War in Iraq in 2003.
Actually, I had resigned once before in 2000, but Ron and Tom Lizardo tracked me down in Mexico (I was teaching English at a university in Tampico), and implored me to come back to work. Seems Ron couldn’t stand driving around with Penny Langford who drove him absolutely bonkers. He wanted a quiet well-mannered male personal assistant. I came back to work under the proviso that it would only be for a year or two.
When he informed me that he was not going to support “Bush’s War,” I told him I was leaving. Lizardo convinced me to stay on another 6 months, but Ron and I avoided each other, knowing that we’d certainly get into a massive argument over foreign policy. My official date of resignation was late Jan. 2004.
But that wasn’t the end of it. I got a call two weeks after I resigned from Ron while he was home in Lake Jackson asking me to come back to work. He joked around, hinted around the edges, that I really wasn’t leaving for good, that “I’d be back.” He even backtracked a bit on his foreign policy positions. He has a way of doing that, of acting more hawkish than he actually is, when it suits his needs.
I gently informed him, No, Ron, this time it was for good.
Addendum: Mr. Pyeatt is a relative of Lori Pyeatt the Congressman’s daughter.

Pyeatt’s categorization of Paul’s home in Surfside Beach as “modest,” is laughable. It’s on the northwide of the village. Much larger and more elegant than any other homes in the village. Anyone can see for themselves, or check it on Google maps.
Eric Dondero, Angleton, TX
(18 miles from Surfside Beach)
So Dr Paul, a prominent and successfull doctor for 35+ years, and who has made wise investments, besides writing numerous best selling books has a big house. Surprise! Oh, and just so ya know, he returns a good portion of his congressional budget to the treasury each year, and he doesn’t even participate in the govt pension plan. So he must be a bad guy because he made a good honest living and isn’t cashing on on the taxpayer to do it… Nice try.
Also Iran is a joke when it comes to having a navy, or even nukes. It would be like the keystone cops vs godzilla. They would be vaporized in an instant if they messed with us, especially if Ron Paul was president. You must mistakenly think that Ron Paul is not for a strong national defense. Ron Paul is all for defending this country if we are attacked. He is also all for getting the job done qucikly and having a decisive ending, meaning we would turn anyone who attacked us into a parking lot and then come home.
Ron Paul is 100% right!
A strangely written article. What does his home size and location have anything to do with the rest of the silly premises in the article? I guess spending a lifetime investing his wealth and buying property makes him evil. I thought that made him smart and industrious. I hope I have the opportunity and wisdom to be as “evil” as Dr. Paul. He is the most consistant and honorable people I am aware of. He’s among my top tier of heros.
mr dondero crawls out from under another rock to try and make a name for himself by attacking his betters….this is the best you have?
give it up already this ron paul steamroller cannot be stopped, especially by the likes of you
HAHAHAH It’s Eric Dondero, former fired employee of Ron Paul from decades ago, with another Ron Paul hit article.
HAHAHAH
How many decades can one carry sourpuss grapes over being fired?
You’re really grasping at straws here… FAIL
P.S. Watch it, Dondero. You’re getting into SLANDER waters here with your lies. You little piece of lying trash.
“But that wasn’t the end of it. I got a call two weeks after I resigned from Ron while he was home in Lake Jackson asking me to come back to work. He joked around, hinted around the edges, that I really wasn’t leaving for good, that “I’d be back.” He even backtracked a bit on his foreign policy positions. He has a way of doing that, of acting more hawkish than he actually is, when it suits his needs.”
Maybe Pajamasmedia should divulge that Dondero was fired for incompetence and subsequently ran the lamest campaign against Ron Paul..ever.. Dondero spent most of his high school time duct taped to trees and recently he can be seen trying to lick his own butt as the disgusted masses continue to yank his shorts into his crack.
I would have thought a man of the immense stature and clout of Eric, who’s impeccable list of libertarian candidates that he has thoughtfully endorsed and sounds off as a who’s who of the Thomas Jefferson club, together with his insightful predictions on the multiple wars and blossoming democracies around the world deserves far more than the clearly jealous and mocking tone of the choir above. Eric’s days as a sadly overlooked and obscure blogger will soon end as he concludes the moral struggle to finally decide if his true talent lies in his ground breaking research and investigative journalism, such as uncovering this overlooked imminent and credible threat that I hope in time all Americans will sagely ponder. It looks like the Iranian’s map making prowess could be the work of an enormous team of one or at least two people on this evidence alone and is almost certainly not the work of the 1-2 million other people with access to entry level mspaint.exe I can only imagine the sad loss to the political sphere that we must all be enduring as the void that Eric could so clearly fill lies hollow and he casts his many talents into worthy libertarian projects like these. Eric, if only we could crush our every expanding enemies who are daily becoming aware of our freedoms, inciting almost instant hate of us, your work would be over and we could all rest on a pile of every expanding bones. One day, eric, one day.
I’ve been reading about False Flag attacks, like The Gulf Of Tonkin, and we all know we invaded Iraq because of “Weapons Of Mass Destruction” that weren’t there. What’s to stop the US from manufacturing a False Flag event and blaming it on Iran just to start a war with them?
Ya this is war mongering. Don’t like it one bit. Bring them home. Each and everyone.
“This is patently false. I was not “fired,” by Congressman Ron Paul. I resigned over his opposition to the War in Iraq in 2003.”
“Actually, I had resigned once before in 2000, but Ron and Tom Lizardo tracked me down in Mexico (I was teaching English at a university in Tampico), and implored me to come back to work. Seems Ron couldn’t stand driving around with Penny Langford who drove him absolutely bonkers. He wanted a quiet well-mannered male personal assistant. I came back to work under the proviso that it would only be for a year or two.”
Eric, also once knew some people who used to work for Congressman Paul, maybe we knew some of the same folks, though we never met. I’m sure Bryan Preston did too in his capacity at the Texas Republican Party, long before PJM ordered Preston to smear Paul at all costs.
It pains me that you would come out with this crap in the past two weeks in a transparent attempt to sandbag your former boss (and I hope you weren’t paid to do that). If he actually said the things he said privately to you that you think were anti-Semitic or racist, you owed it to the public to come out with it in 2008, the first time he ran for President on the Republican ticket. As it is, your story has little credibility and suggests people came to you looking for any dirt on Paul they could find and you gave them what they wanted. You had every opportunity to bring out the ‘race’ stuff in 2008 when Kirchuk published his story.
