Time to Force Holder to Act Against Union Violence

Federal law makes it a crime to take people hostage.

18 USC 1203: Hostage Taking act

provides in relevant part:

(a) Except as provided in subsection (b) of this section, whoever, whether inside or outside the United States, seizes or detains and threatens to kill, to injure, or to continue to detain another person in order to compel a third person or a governmental organization to do or abstain from doing any act as an explicit or implicit condition for the release of the person detained, or attempts or conspires to do so, shall be punished by imprisonment for any term of years or for life and, if the death of any person results, shall be punished by death or life imprisonment.

Today, in line with Trumka and Hoffa’s call to arms, labor thugs violated this law and got off with a slap on the wrist from Washington State authorities. Among other things they overpowered security guards who they held hostage for hours. According to the above-cited article,” The blockade [also]appeared to defy a federal restraining order issued last week against the union after it was accused of assaults and death threats.”

After Obama’s silence in the face of Hoffa’s incendiary remarks and his invitation to Trumka to sit with the First Lady tonight as he gives his “jobs” speech,we can assume that Holder’s passivity in the face of escalating labor violence is at his boss’ direction or with his approval.
