I have spent a lot of time on air on radio and TV and have had quite a few odd things happen while the mics or cameras were live. For instance, years ago I learned while broadcasting a football game that the apartment next door to mine had burned (leaving mine looking like Pompeii). I’ve never been broadcasting live when an earthquake struck, though. That’s what happened to America’s Radio News anchors Lori Lundin and Chris Salcedo today. Turn up your speakers and you can hear a pretty good rumble.
Cool reaction on the part of both anchors, by the way.

Did this just happen? I live in toronto, Canada, and I felt my floor sway a little earlier this afternoon.
It was felt all the way up to New Brunswick. It happened early this afternoon (EST)
Happened about 1:50pm EDT. We felt it in Pennsylvania, evacuated our office for about 20 minutes.
