(Not).
Hardly a day goes by without some “news service” or insider journalist telling us that Obama is on the verge of calling for Syrian mass murderer Bashar Assad “to go.” Hillary chimes in.
And then nothing happens. Here’s the latest:
“US President Obama and British Prime Minister David Cameron have called for an “immediate” halt to the bloodshed in Syria.
During a telephone conversation on Saturday, the two leaders “agreed on the need for an immediate halt of all bloodshed and violence against the Syrian people,” according to a White House statement.”
I don’t think you can get “Assad must go” out of that.

Why is it that the administration applies R2P to Libyans but not Syrians?
Take your wife and go to Tehran, or both your corpses will be dragged through the streets and strung up like Mussolini, Allah willing.
I don’t care if you are fighting al-Qaida militants and the MB in the streets, the world believes they are peaceful unarmed protests. It is a fitting end for the sponsor of terror to be destroyed by terror, you reap what you sow heretic blasphemer.
Nuclear reactor, Scuds to Lebanon vs AK’s al-Qaida, MB militants, hmm. Hard choice, not. Pack up the house of Assad and leave, you will not be treated as fairly as Mubarak.
Leave your brother in Syria, Malik awaits, Allah the merciful needs to offer the head of the heretic blasphemer to the souls of the martyrs.
Of course you have been played all along right down to the timing of Ramadan, you are predictable, as you are stupid.
We would like to return our copies of Vogue but the pages are stuck together.
Allah Akbar.
Where is Assad going? Maybe Obama should go along with him… to make sure Assad goes, I mean. Escort him out, as it were. They both should go and stay gone and that way the world can be sure neither one of them comes back.
It seems these days Obama only gets before the cameras either to posture about the need for Republicans to “compromise” (i.e. accept Obama’s positions) on taxes and spending, or to protest over Jews building apartments in Jerusalem. Syria? He’ll let Clinton posture over that one.
Obama, you foolish, reckless cowboy! What sort of aggressive provocation move will we see next? A VERY strongly-worded letter? Something even more gravely threatening? Your bullying antics frighten your country and terrorize the peaceful Muslim nations of the Middle East!
Fud, you cynic, you know not whereof you speak. Obama has weapons in his arsenal far beyond the nasty note. He may–I shudder even to think of pulling out this weapon–tell Assad what he told the mullahs of Iran, that if they don’t straighten up and fly right they might not be invited to be part of the “community of responsible nations.”
And Hillary may withdraw her hope that if the United States can give Assad an “alternative view of himself” (her words) he may then unleash the inner reformer he secretly yearns to be.
And a foreign policy like this is why I will vote for any, absolutely any, Republican in 2012. We can recover from the economic mess; it may take a decade or two but we can do it. Obama’s foreign policy…”disastrous” seems almost hopeful and “catastrophic” seems not out of the range of possibility.
