John Kerry Ally Loses Silver Star
When John Kerry was being “swiftboated” (which is another way of putting, when the truth was being told about him) in 2004, Wade Sanders rose up to defend him. Will John Kerry, who by the way served in Vietnam, return the favor?
“Had the subsequently determined facts and evidence surrounding both the incident for which the award was made and the processing of the award itself been known to the Secretary of the Navy in 1992, those facts would have prevented the award of the Silver Star,” [Mabus spokeswoman Pamela] Kunze said.
Sanders was Kerry’s superior officer in Vietnam. Sanders is currently in jail, on child pornography charges. Not sure how that relates to 1992, but the back story must be interesting.

*Sanders was Kerry’s superior officer in Vietnam.*
That’s not the case. Sanders and Kerry didn’t serve together in any capacity in Vietnam, though both were Swift Boat OinCs (officers-in-charge).
“who by the way served in Vietnam.” I love the Taranto reference. He’s the haughty looking Frenchman who has the hat, he has the hat to this day.
He got the hat for Christmas, which he spent in Cambodia, which is right next to Vietnam which, by the way, is where he served! Thanks for the reminder. The 2004 presidential campaign seems so long ago. “Reporting for Duty!”
It’s simply stunning the low-grade behavior in these people, who, without any shame whatsoever, try to steal the valor of those who truly earn the Silver Star.
There is good reason to believe that Kerry received a less than honorable discharge from the US Navy in 1971/1972 time frame, which was expunged during the Carter amnesty. The dates on records he published are consistent with this theory, and his traitorous (literally – met with enemy, then advanced their cause) behavior is consistent with such actions.
On the other hand, if one believes Kerry, then Kerry was an officer in the United States Naval Reserve at the time he was meeting with the Viet Cong in Paris and conducting propaganda operations against the US war effort in the US.
Scum + Scum = Scum.
Seeing as how John Kerry is one of the biggest scumbags in America, it isn’t too surprising that his pals are degenerate animals.
What if there was a law forbidding ex-military from running for Federal office for, say, 20 years after their separation? Doesn’t sound very democratic, I guess. On the other hand, it might discourage political scum who join the service merely to enhance their images. God knows the country doesn’t need them. Neither does the military.
Greetings:
Unfortunately, and like all human processes, the awarding of medals by the military, even awards for valor, is subject to various forms of corruption. During my own all-expense-paid tour of sunny Southeast Asia, one of our company’s platoon leaders was put in for a Silver Star after having basically deserted, with his Platoon Sergeant and radio operator, the rest of his platoon when their platoon-size ambush was in turn ambushed. When the rest of the company found out about the pending award, the word went out that not many would be attending any award ceremony and those who did would not be highly thought of, a sub-optimal situation at best when co-located with a bunch of relatively young men with automatic weapons or worse.
Admittedly, this was an extreme case but part of the infantry folk wisdom was that the higher the rank, the less that was required to earn an medal. One of the “jokes” was that a General flying over a battle in his helicopeter at 3000 feet, or so, would get put in for an award by his Lieutenant who was very impressed by the General’s actions.
