Obama Debt Talk – First Thoughts

After watching the most recent speech from President Obama on the debt and deficit, I can honestly say that there is no depth to which he won’t sink. It is stunning to see the president talk about compromise, when the Administration has yet to put forth its own plan. Stunning when you realize that the Senate, under Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV) would not allow Cut, Cap and Balance to have an up or down vote. Stunning when he calls on Americans to call the Senate and House members to demand compromise, but walks out on those same negotiations.

This didn’t seem like a president who was effective. It looked like a panic-stricken leader who was now hoping the like-minded ideologues across America can place enough pressure on Washington to enact non-sensical tax increases. It seems obvious, based on the president’s words, that he is incapable of moving the nation forward based on his “rigid” ideology.

The president was elected to make hard decisions, yet he is unwilling to make any decision. He is supposed to be a great speaker, but has proven he is a horrible listener. And now, he has gone from speaking to begging….begging America to do what he wants, rather than accepting the idea of “compromise” himself.

If the left honestly thinks that he is not worried about re-election. Think again.

Look at six month charts on US Ten Year Treasuries. Yield have come DOWN.

That is not what happens when bond approach default.

    Compare to Greek Ten Years.

Equity markets trade on emotions. Bond markets trade on calculated risk.

Risk of default is effectively ZERO.

If he were REALLY worried about default, bonds, or anything OTHER than spending our butts into oblivion and carrying out his Cloward and Piven Strategy, he would not have burned through our hard earned dollars as fast as he has.

      • Chuck

Remember the scene in The Dark Knight when The Joker burns that pile of a million dollars?

Obama has blown through trillions without creating a damn job. Now he wants more. Same speech: Bush, Evil Corporate Jets, Slavery…he sounded nuts.

Nothing new! The same old boring speech. When it comes to reality, he is still in hybernation. He does not realize he has been on the throne for almost 3 years and the only change we have seen is pretty hopeless. But, it was fun playing Obamabingo

Oh yeah, the US Ten Year Treasury yields come down when the unaccountable FED keeps printing US dollars to buy them. Inflation for us ‘little people’ goes up but the ‘official’ gauges of inflation don’t include food or pretty much anything ordinary people care about on a daily basis.

I just hope that the Republicans in the House and Senate do one thing – ensure that the debt ceiling discussions happen again next year shortly before the election. Then they can play that clip of Obama stating that raising the debt ceiling is a sign of poor leadership…

Nothing new! the same old boring and blaming speech. When it comes to reality, he is still in hybernation and he does not realize that he has been on the throne for 3 years and the only change we have gotten so far is pretty hopeless.

I could hear what he said even through the chaff and the flares.
“I WILL raise the debt ceiling with or without the approval from Congress.”
You better start writing a piece explaining the economic and political consequences of such a move, you’ve got a week.

I find it amazing that Speaker Boehner, who doesn’t really strike me as someone to -listen- to, was far more entertaining (in a good way) and far more effective (also in a good way) than Obama in putting his message out. Obama pleaded with the masses to bombard all of Congress with demands to do things the same way they have always been done while blaming the Republicans for their “ideology”. Boehner simply stated the facts. The person who spoke just before him is a liar and is a non-starter in real planning sessions. He wants what the American people do not want and is hellbent to achieve his dreams of socialist domination.

Boehner’s basic response? Not no, but you’re-out-of-your-freakin-mind NO. Finally, a Republican who has said NO at the correct time to put the brakes on a horrendous decline in our country.

Now you know what happens when those college professors who were such partisan propagandistic arrogantly know-it-all assholes in the classroom….what happens when they’re forced to confront reality. It dawns on them that they really don’t know shit. And that they’re not cool….in fact, they’re sick, maladjusted jerks who only seem cool because their captive audience is even more credulous than they are.

Except that you and I leave the cocoon of propaganda and get real jobs and face the real world, where dipshit ideas meet failure. And then we grow the F up.

Obama never grew up. And now he’s alternating between running scared and crying like a baby. The man has – literally- no idea what to do with a competing idea that challenges his self delusion.

Welcome to your first year after graduating undergrad, Mr. President, you petulant little commie bastard.

    • mreastla

Right ON luke, right on target.

    • ridgerunner

As a retired professor, I concur with you. My estimate always was that about 20% of the faculty in my department could have actually functioned in the private sector at a level that would have provided an income equivalent to their professorial salaries.

While “petulant little commie bastard” describes his personhood, it doesn’t do justice to the scope of Obama’s impact. An operation like Fast and Furious, for example, requires words like “criminal” and “treasonous.” The drug cartels are at war with the USA. Arming them is treason.

    • SouthernGrit

You go Luke!!!! You go!!!! I suspect the majority of us all feel this way. See if you can find Charlie Reese’s last column – interesting read as well – and straight to the point. We forget our history lessons at times, but relearning is so much fun – especially now.

Reminded me of my middle child throwing a temper tantum and demanding a pudding cup. Little Obama should be sent to his room until he learns to function as an adult.

    • Taxpayer

Ace of Spades will give O a pudding cup…

    #10 Luke nails it.

Obama has never conceived, designed, built, implemented, run, or improved ANYTHING.

He’s never accomplished anything in the real world – never understood cause/effect, the importance of planning, understanding constraints, the value of teamwork, the imperative of humility when wielding power.

He doesn’t understand that a budget is an expression of a tangible, real world, and that performance can and must be measured for results. An effective leader must have been at one time in the trenches, with his hands dirty.

He’s spent his life in academia believing the rantings of other academics who have failed to create value in the real world. To him, Noam Chomsky is an intellectual.

The net result is an arrogant, petulant, man-child who has no conception of how America works. Those of us who went through higher education and grew out of the ideological straitjacket when confronted with the real world saw him for what he was very early in the process. May others join me in exposing this fraud.

What is even sadder is that this man seems to actually believe that America is evil. How can he be so stupid? And he misjudges the love most Americans have for America. He actually thought we would be happy with a “fundamental transformation” of our country. What a dolt!

      • RK

BarbaraS, I don’t think he’s met a whole lot of folks like us. He assumes we are as rare everywhere else as we are where he’s lived–polling demographics be darned.

What confuses me is: is he completely surrounded by people who are as myopic and zenophobic?

  13. 13. Mike Giles

A lot of you other folks who helped elect this clown – I guess I’m part of that 5% of Black folks that saw through this charlatan – voted for someone who could do no more than vote “Present” when he was in his state senate, never introduced any legislation of his own during his two whole years in the Senate, has never held a real job in his entire life, seems to have more shady connections than actual friends, and has so many unanswered questions about his past that no one is really sure where in the hell he even hails from; and then you’re surprised when he gets the toughest job in the world and doesn’t have a clue? He is so incompetent, that he doesn’t do what most people do when they’re in over their heads – hire so decent advisers. Look at his administration. What do you see? More academics in over their heads. Whole bunches of people who talk a good game, and then stand there with dumb looks on their faces when reality refuses to match their theories.

    • ridgerunner

There are plenty of black men who would have been more competent than Obama. A black fire department captain that I am glad to call a friend would have done a better job because he is serious about his mission and smart enough to listen to anyone who has ideas.

    • SouthernGrit

Well. Thank you Mike Giles. I only pray that the majority of AMERICANS – no color at all – have seen the man for what he really is. He is NOT a leader. He is a good orator who talks a good talk, but cannot walk the walk. He is leading us into a socialistic society just as surely as I have all the Southern Grit I need to make it each day with this man-child living in OUR HOUSE and dividing us as a nation.
