today, to the Council on Foreign Relations, is the finest foreign policy address from a leading American politician in a year of Sundays. I’ll blog on it later–it deserves serious attention–but I just wanted to get it posted here for your enjoyment. Wow. Shades of the Gipper.






This is a clear, coherent policy. I disagree with its premise, that we have vital interests in the entire region. However, he can put forward a reasonable argument for his positions. That is all I ask, that you have a clear, coherent, consistent policy. I do not expect to always agree with it. A clear plan is far better than a haphazard (or hidden agenda) approach.
Finally there is someone who can articulate a clear and coherent foreign policy both at home and abroad.
