I posted this story up in the Scuttlebutt headlines until I had some time to take care of other posts and digest the news itself. It’s the kind of news that turns a tragicomedy into a plain old tragedy.
Their marriage has become the subject of intense speculation and scrutiny amid an embarrassing online sex scandal.
Now, Representative Anthony D. Weiner and Huma Abedin are about to make news of a different kind: they are expecting their first child.
Ms. Abedin, 35, is in the early stages of pregnancy, according to three people with knowledge of the situation.
The pregnancy, which the couple has disclosed to close friends and family, adds a new dimension to questions about the future of their marriage.
That’s an understatement. And the news has drawn additional rage from Joan Walsh, already captured on MSNBC being annoyed with Weiner for helping make her look stupid for defending him. Weiner is dealing with larger issues now than whether or not his political career survives; his little pastime has damaged an awful lot of people who put their names on the line because they once thought well of him. He’s a man without a shred of credibility, and because of the way he’s trying to hang onto his congressional seat, without dignity.
The Democratic leadership remains silent. How long can that last?
Weiner child – 2nd Grade: “Are you Jewish?”
“Nope.”
“Why?”
“I dunno.”
“Are you muslim?”
“Nope.”
“Why?”
“I dunno.”
“Why are you named after a hot dog?”
“I’m not.”
“Why did yer dad have Twitter sex with 287 women when you were conceived?”
“I dunno.”
etc., etc. times 1 million.
Vulcan projection: odds are 1 in 2,388,998 this child will not have “problems.”
Correction indicated: change name, move to Brazil. Cancel Twitter account. Any contact with technology contraindicated.
Who is the father Bill Clinton?
I feel so bad for his wife. While it is sad to see a man drown in his own foolishness; taking his innocent wife and future child with him is tragic. Perhaps Mrs. Clinton will be able to help her during this difficult time. Might be a good time to say a prayer for the whole family. He might think a while on how to be an honorable husband & father before he tackles trying to be a reputable and honorable politician again.
You are the voice of reason and kindness, Theresa. Lets see if we can take the high road as Conservatives and behave a little better than those who tortured the Palin family (some still do) during the 2008 election.
That little innocent needs to be protected from this. Perhaps we can do our part by showing compassion for Huma and the baby. Nothing is impossible for God. They can still be spared a lot of suffering if he acts wisely and resigns. Some penitential work may be in order to rescue himself from this morass and to improve so his child can be proud of him one day.

So Huma KNEW what Weiner was up to before she married him from what he tells us but she married him anyway because of course, he promised her it would stop. Now, isn’t she supposed to be all smart and high and mighty and everything. Basically, she’s just been knocked up and kicked to the curb. She better leave him. Guaranteed she leaves him, the moving van isn’t even out of sight before he has another silly Lib girl in his bed.
